Customer Review Summary
Sunday lunch is the draw most reviewers return to, with several praising generous portions and a roast described as delicious, though one calls it pricey. Close behind are the pie, with a well cooked crust, the Malbec steak pie, fish and chips, crispy duck salad and linguine, plus a chocolate dessert one diner calls to die for and a cocktail mentioned at a birthday party. Servers are repeatedly called friendly, attentive and helpful without being intrusive, and diners like the canal views, the covered terrace and the glass house used for a surprise party. Good vegetarian options get a mention. The main complaint is a sharing roast that one reviewer found uneven: dry chicken, chewy beef, only a couple of fresh potatoes, and one piece of pork. That reviewer also waited a long while for plates from earlier customers to be cleared. Others note a small car park and many stairs to the toilets, and one wished the lamb dish came on a plate rather than in a bowl. One reviewer was offered extra gravy and a spoon for the linguine without asking.

“Went for Sunday lunch with a friend, great portions, could only eat it all as it was so tasty! Irina was an excellent and attentive hostess 10/10. Above average prices (£25 for a roast) but well worth the markup as it was delicious 😋”

“Really lovely experience! The food was absolutely delicious and everything was so nicely prepared. A special thank you to Nathan, our waiter, who was incredibly friendly, attentive and professional. He made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We had a great time and would definitely come back! ❤️”

“Food was top notch! Delicious. Service was perfect. Eva was the sweetest waitress and so helpful. A credit to the pub! We love the pub and will definitely come again! Parking was a bit of a problem. Carpark was small and a lot of stairs to the loos so may be a problem for people with mobility issues unless they have disabled toilets that we didn’t see. Apart from that it was a lovely pub.”

“It was our first time eating here today. The food was divine. I had the crispy duck salad and my hubby had the Malbec stake pie and our mum had fish and chips. All plates cleared. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our server Jo was lovely very friendly and polite. We didn’t feel rushed . It was a lovely experience. The atmosphere was lovely. A lovely family friendly place to come too. I would definitely recommend coming here. We had a beautiful view of the river too. We will definitely be coming back.”
