Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most mentions, one diner enjoying the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding as a generous portion, another calling the sticky toffee pudding worth the drive alone. Close behind are the steak and ale pie, praised alongside the extensive beer selection, and a falafel nourishment bowl. Others single out the Chardonnay and a peach lager. Dogs are welcome, with water bowls and treats supplied, and one reviewer suggests booking in advance as the pub can be quite full. Complaints centre on the kitchen and a busy Sunday. One roast beef came overcooked and brown despite the menu promising pink, with only three potatoes and two slices. The fish pie drew two comments, one for uncooked vegetables and one for too little fish and prawns. On that same Sunday, a missing chair was replaced by the diners themselves, and extra gravy and a spoon never arrived. Another diner could not eat the squash curry, and the manager swapped it for a chicken Caesar salad and credited the bill.

“It was Monday lunchtime, maybe not the best time of the week to visit? My sister & I ordered the fish pie whilst my wife ordered the squash curry? The fish pie was great ( except the veg wasn't cooked) but my wife couldn't touch the squash curry. I mentioned this to one of the staff & they changed it immediately for a chicken Caesar salad which was very good. I doubt very much we will be coming back soon but credit to Tom ( the manager) who saved the day with his excellent interpersonal skills & giving us credit on the bill. You need to hang onto him & make sure your chef is up to scratch, even on a Monday.”

“Had a great experience at this pub. The food was delicious, with generous portions and plenty of flavour. The atmosphere was welcoming and had a really good vibe, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the evening. A special mention to Jonah, who provided excellent service throughout our visit. He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel well looked after. His positive attitude really added to the experience. Overall, a fantastic pub with great food, a great atmosphere, and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!”
