  “Everything about this place is great, apart from the salad 🤷‍♀️ I had a mackerel and beetroot salad with horseradish sauce but it was just a bag of mixed leaves with probably not even a handful of mackerel and maybe a singular beetroot for £13. Everyone else’s pies etc were lovely and delicious and fairly priced and plentiful but sadly felt short changed by the salad. Xxx”

  “If I could give 6 stars I would! The pies were outstanding & the Albion is a very modist pub, where you have fish & chip shops all over town claiming there the best, the Albion does no such thing & they probably are the best in old town & new! Even better was the impromptu Jam session by ear appeared to be local musicians, unless this is a weekly occurrence on a Tuesday evening (as we ourselves aren't locals) simply topped off an incredible night. Finally the staff were friendly & super attentive given the business of the pub! One server even went to confirm the spice blend they used for their vegan pie (& yes they have 2 choices of vegan pies & more of vegetarian pies too!). Over all a 10/10 visit & will definitely be going again if ever we revisit, more to the point we'll be recommending it to anyone who visits Hastings in the future!”

  “My first time eating here despite years of hearing about their legendary pies! I wasn't disappointed: my chicken, ham and leek pie with mash, carrots and gravy was scrumptious. Beautifully presented too. I chose the lemon and pistachio cheesecake for dessert which was equally delicious.”

  “I've been here a couple of times now just for the pies so can't comment on the pub, but the pies are great as was the macaroni cheese. I had the chicken and leek pie with meat gravy. The service was also great even though it was busy, they took no time to take our order and were very friendly.”

  “Absolutely amazing pies, great veggie alternatives too. The side selections are well made and are not forgotten about, braised cabbage and mash are 2 good options. Gravy choices are good too.”

  “I enjoyed a most pleasant Friday early afternoon at The Albion in Hastings Old Town. A perfectly executed hot cappuccino, accompanied by excellent deli offerings, provided ideal refreshment while I listened to engaging live folk music in the welcoming seafront bar. The pub attracted a diverse and convivial mix of patrons: younger drinkers enjoying the atmosphere, seasoned regulars at the bar, and numerous dining customers savouring the renowned pies. Particular credit is due to the exceptional landlady and her attentive staff, whose warmth and professionalism greatly enhanced the visit. A splendid example of a heritage pub thriving with genuine community spirit. Five stars. Highly recommended.”

  “An incredible traditional pub 🍻 with delicious pies made fresh every day! We devoured a steak and ale pie 🥧 and a shepherd's pie 🥧 and both were amazing! Tender meat, flaky pastry and yummy. Also our server (Scarlett) was exceptional, very quick and efficient and always polite! She was great at recommending stuff to try too! Overall a must visit if you ever find yourself in Hastings!!”
