Quick info
About The Denbigh
The Denbigh is a pub on Little Common Rd in Bexhill On Sea, with an 83-dish menu that mixes tapas-style plates with pub dining. Albondigas Meatballs and Homemade Hummus sit among the small plates, and roast dinners are on the menu for a more traditional meal. Specials run alongside the regular dishes, and they include seasonal options. Because the kitchen offers so many dishes, a table can build a meal from several small plates or choose a single main.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, welcoming staff are the most repeated draw, with reviewers describing table service that held up even in a heatwave. Food earns strong praise too, led by the crispy duck salad, alongside crab salad, curries, a Lebanese evening, and desserts such as a chocolate cup and a meringue. The roast dinner splits opinion. One diner calls it the best they have eaten, while another found the roasts under seasoned and bland, with cauliflower cheese that tasted of flour, and a third reports tough meat and hard potatoes. Slow service recurs as a complaint, with one reviewer waiting a long time to be served and another saying nobody seemed to know what was going on. On cleanliness, one reviewer reports a strong smell of urine, and another describes a sticky table and tacky carpet. The patio, with its pergola and heaters, draws praise for outdoor seating. One visitor to a nearby hospital returned several days running and found the staff had reserved their usual table without being asked.

“We went here for my mother in laws birthday, the service wasnt great to be honest, it was slow and nobody seemed to know what was going on. But my gosh was it the best roast dinner I have ever eaten, and the dessert was amazing, I had the chocolate cup and I haven't stopped thinking about it since, my husband had the meringue and it was equally as good!”

“What a delightful experience at the Denbigh . Food was superb and staff team working so hard in a blistering heatwave. High level of courtesy, efficiency and friendliness . miaa in particular made sure that we were happy, had everything we needed and we're comfortable. “We often drive past this pub and finally stopped there for lunch today. So glad we did. Lovely staff, very welcoming and even gave us a dog bowl with ice cubes in it for our very hot dogs! Sat outside in a lovely pergola and had crab salad and crispy duck salad both of which were lovely. We will certainly be going there again and entirely recommend!”

“Great staff Roasts were unimpressive, under seasoned & bland. Cauliflower cheese wasn't cheesy & poorly made, tasted of flour. Veg looked like it came from a bag”
