Customer Review Summary

The Tandoori Mix starter and Korai draw repeated praise, with the Rogan Josh, chicken tikka, paneer starter and biryani close behind and poppadoms with chilli dip singled out by more than one diner. Reviewers consistently point to the Happy Hour offer as strong value, and several mention generous portions, fresh naan, and cocktails alongside the curries. Service comes up again and again as attentive without being overbearing, and the decor and marina setting are repeatedly called relaxing and welcoming even when the restaurant is busy. One diner notes staff accommodated a partner's severe allergies. Some reviewers advise booking ahead, especially for Happy Hour or larger groups, since the restaurant fills up quickly. One regular describes always being looked after despite the crowds, with staff packing up leftovers unprompted for another diner who couldn't finish their meal.

“Honestly brilliant. Lovely attentive service. The food was so so good. I wish I had two stomachs so I could have fit more in haha. We will absolutely be back again. I've not had Indian food that good in a long long time. And the prices were very reasonable for both food and drinks. Speaking of drinks the cocktails were lovely too.”

“What a fantastic find! 😍 We discovered the Dhamaka Indian restaurant while staying at Crimdon House Farm and decided to catch the bus over to the marina, not really knowing where we’d end up eating. We arrived at around 5pm and weren’t even sure if it would be open, but as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome, shown straight to a table. While looking through the menu, we were pleasantly surprised to discover their Happy Hour offer, available from 4:30pm to 7pm. It’s incredible value for money! The restaurant soon became very busy, so I’d definitely recommend booking a table if you’re planning to visit during Happy Hour. We started with poppadoms and dips (the chilli sauce is absolutely delicious! 😋), followed by the Tandoori Mix starter, which was cooked perfectly and packed with flavour. For our mains, I had the Korai and asked for it to be made a little spicier, which was perfect. My husband chose the Rogan Josh, and we ordered two different naan breads so we could share half of each. They were both delicious! The portions were so generous that I couldn’t quite finish my meal, but the staff were more than happy to pack the rest into a takeaway container for me. The service was excellent throughout. Every member of staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant itself is spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy a meal. This will definitely be our go-to restaurant whenever we’re staying in Hartlepool. Delicious food, fantastic service and great value for money. We can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!”

“As good a meal as I've had in recent memory. I've eaten Indian food up and down the UK and this is hands down some of the best I've ever had. Combined with the relaxing vibes, gorgeous decor and stunning location by the waterfront on the marina, and not forgetting the exceptional service from the staff, which all made for an unforgettable evening. Well done guys.”
