About Victoria Arms
Victoria Arms serves home-made food, cooked to order, from a restaurant kitchen in Hartlepool at 154 Northgate. Fish and chips comes freshly cooked rather than held ready, and a Sunday roast joins the menu at the end of the week, plated with veg alongside the meat. The kitchen runs through the week apart from Wednesdays, and booking ahead is advised. Outdoor seating gives the option of a table in the open air, while high chairs make the dining room workable for families with young children. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without steps.

Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most repeat praise, with several describing generous portions, plenty of veg and meat, and returning for it on multiple occasions. Close behind is the fish and chips, singled out for crispy batter that never goes soggy and thick home cut chips rather than skinny fries, all cooked fresh to order. Others name a parmo served with chips and salad, a toastie, and a chicken fajita, and one visitor calls it the best pint of Trophy he had had in a long time. Warmth from the owners and staff runs through nearly every account, described as friendly, down to earth, and willing to go out of their way, with one parent noting how well staff handled their autistic daughter. Several mention good value, and one points to themed nights including spiritualists as a reason to come back for more than the food.

“Pure chance we called in here during dog walk combined with pub crawl around headland. What a great surprise and find. Staff were absolutely brilliant friendly and amazing. We all ordered food which you know was cooked to order as it was fresher than fresh. The half cod and chips was ordered by two people and it was perfectly cooked with the most amazing home cut and fried chips (none of Yr skinny fries these were big proper chips). The batter on the fish was nicely crispy and not soggy. I ordered a parmo which was delicious came with chips and salad as it was so nice I devoured it like there was no tomorrow. One toasties was ordered and yet again was delicious. Finally a chicken fajita was brought out and so tasty it didn't last long. We all had drinks and all commented on how overall the service was great friendly and couldn't ask for more. All so competitively priced we will be returning Thank you all at the Victoria Arms”
