  “Very disappointing, food was not up to a high standard you would expect from an establishment like this. Cheap quality ingredients used to prepare what should be, high quality dishes. Tip for restaurant, use quality ingredients and it really will reflect in your dishes. I'd suggest you take a trip to an established restaurant and sample their food to see where your going wrong.”

  “Food exquisite, there is something here for everyone taste. Vast menu excellent chefs and superb customer service. Atmosphere is warm, sociable, welcoming friendly, an all round perfect place whether it’s business meetings or family gatherings or a quiet meal for two very hard to beat this place.”

  “Delicious food, steak was impeccably cooked. Pollo Gambarreti rich and creamy. Good starter portions too, beautiful spicy meatballs, fresh bruschetta. Best meal had out for a while. Entertaining background acoustic guitarist on too.”

  “As a participant in restaurant week I used this as an opportunity to sample some of their food, quite often restaurants give a cut down version or “special offers” during this week, so you’re not really getting anything of particular value or often off the main menu. I was pleasantly surprised that Santonio’s had a good selection off the main menu including starters all for £15 (starter & main) for the full version. (denoted on the menu by an asterisk), I had garlic mushrooms followed by Carbonara. The garlic mushrooms were cooked to perfection the sauce was a little bland for me, when I order garlic I expect a strong garlic taste, not a hint in the background, The carbonara was similar , lacking that Mwar (lipsmacking) taste, it was enjoyable but nothing to write home about. My partner started with the meatballs Ok to start with then the flavours subtly appeared , tomato, garlic, and a spice that gave that Mwar aftertaste. Following this, peppercorn chicken with chips, the chips being of good quality, the chicken ( cooked perfect) complimented by the peppercorn sauce was quite delicious, although could have been improved on, a little spicier perhaps. And yes it’s all down to one’s particular palate. I must mention the service was very good, the waiting on staff, second to none. Would I return , probably .”

  “We went here for some food on an evening. After paying £2 to park the car on the Marina, we decided to have a bite to eat. On entering the restaurant, we were served immediately and taken for a table for two. There was a sign to tell you to wait to be seated. We were given menus straight away, and then the waitress disappeared without taking a drinks order. This was a little alien to us, but she soon came back and took our drinks order. We ordered a burger and chips and a chicken skewer hanger. The burger and chips was served on a slab of wood (see photos), and the chicken was served hanging, but the plate was cold. The portion size wasn't very big, and my partner said that he was still hungry after eating that. He enjoyed the taste but compared the taste to a takeaway (just not as dry), marinated in tandoori, turmeric amd garlic. He wasn't impressed with it and commented that he felt the menu was quite overpriced. For two main meals and two drinks we spent £40. We didn't stay for long after eating as we wanted to walk around the marina before the car park timer expired. For an evening the restaurant was very quiet. (It was a Tuesday though). The service was pretty good and the music was good. The toilets could do with being kept more clean, but other than that, it was an average meal. We probably wouldn't return.”
