Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the Sunday roast, with several praising the wagyu topside and Yorkshire pudding as fresh and well cooked, while others return for the fish and chips and the craft beer selection that includes Big Smoke Brew Co, Salt Citra, and Gypsy Hill. A few note the sticky toffee pudding and churros, though one describes the churros as unpleasantly filled with salted caramel and the pudding served without custard, cream, or ice cream. The jazz evening draws positive remarks for the entertainment and service, and multiple reviews highlight the friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. One reviewer reports a cold roast drowned in gravy and suggests serving it on the side.

The roast was good but cold and swimming in gravy. Would be better if the gravy was served on the side. The sticky toffee pudding was served on its own £9 (no offer of custard, cream or ice cream. The churros were horrible (it didn’t say they were stuffed with some kind of salted caramel) not nice at all. Overall very disappointing.

Went here to see/hear the Jazz Jam session evening. Our disappointment that no hot drinks were available because of a faulty machine was managed very well by Dylan who provided excellent service all evening. The jazz entertainment was great, definitely recommend a visit.

Had a delicious Sunday roast here. The wagyu topside was cooked perfectly and everything was fresh and tasty. Husband enjoyed his burger and chips too. Recommend and will definitely be back!

We came here on holiday from NZ and it’s exactly what we wanted from your good old fashioned British pub. Just like we imagined from the tv shows and movies we watch here. Fantastic food, nice cold beer and great staff. Especially Laura. She was FANTASTIC!!

What a great experience this was. Took my parents for Sunday dinner. And the food was amazing. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the manager was out of this world. Couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend for anybody looking for good food good drink and a warm friendly brilliant atmosphere

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
