Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the generous, home cooked food, with the sea bass and the Sunday roasts of roast chicken and roast pork, served with Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese, named most often. Close behind are the fish trio starter, the firecracker chicken and a warm winter salad, along with a wide choice of desserts and gluten-free options. Portions are repeatedly called huge or hearty, and several describe the prices as good value. Staff are consistently called friendly, and the pub is described as cosy, with oak beams, comfy chairs and an open fire, plus a good size garden. Dogs are welcomed, and one reviewer was pleased to find a sausage and veg dish made for their dog, while another notes an extensive range of non-alcoholic drinks. The only complaints are minor: one reviewer found the car park rammed though spaces were plentiful, another found it loud, and one ordered a starter so large they could not finish the main.

“Absolutely superb place. Really nice pub with great food, awesome service and an extensive range of non-alcoholic drinks - yes, I’m “one of them”. Very dog friendly and just a nice place to decompress. I didn’t really want to leave a positive review because I don’t want the place to get swamped with people - but realised that’s probably not fair ;-) I had the warm winter salad which was really nice. Pop along and enjoy!”
