About The Fat Cat Cafe Bar
In Gwynedd, The Fat Cat Cafe Bar is a bar at 161 High Street with cocktails at the centre of its menu. Pitchers are on offer, including a solero pitcher, and a 2-for-1 cocktail deal adds to the range. Beer drinkers will find a selection of lagers alongside a limited choice of ales. The kitchen serves pizza and other food, so the bar works for a meal as well as a drink. The front of the room has large windows facing the street.

Customer Review Summary
Cocktails are the most frequent draw, with reviewers calling them great and naming a solero pitcher, plus a 2 for 1 offer on Thursday nights that one reviewer says makes the pricing better after calling the drinks a tad expensive. Close behind is the food, with a pizza and a lunch enjoyed and one diner calling it superb and great value. A few mention a good selection of lagers but limited ales, and describe a cosey spot with big front windows for people watching and seating outside at the back. Service splits sharply. Some find the staff friendly, chatty and prompt, while others call them rude or unfriendly. One reviewer says the bill came to 40 percent more than the drinks menu showed, with a cocktail deal and outdated menus at the centre of the dispute. Several remark on how empty it is, including a daytime visit disturbed by an alarm that kept going off, and one points to a hiring sign that has stayed in the window for a long time.

“My mate slipped on a freshly mopped floor, and despite the floor being wet and clearly slippery, there was not a single wet floor sign or warning anywhere. He was left to walk across it completely unaware of the hazard. A wet floor sign costs practically nothing. Preventing someone from getting injured should be one of the most basic responsibilities of a bar. He injured his knee and his arm. Thankfully, the consequences could have been much worse, but it's genuinely concerning that something this basic was overlooked. Customers shouldn't have to guess whether they're walking across a dry floor or an unmarked slip hazard. Its important to point out that he wasnt drunk or tispy either. Sort out your health and safety before someone gets seriously hurt.”

“Terrible business. Staff (Kavi) is not friendly. No atmosphere, there’s usually no one there for good reason. And there's a reason why there has been a hiring sign in the window for a very long time…”

“The best bar in Bangor. The owner and his team are great people.”

“Looking for a quiet pint and something to eat. Got both. Surprised that this place was empty when other pubs on the high street seems to be busy. Maybe the Welsh, who are known to be very insular, give it a miss as it’s run by ‘foreigners’. Anyway the food was superb and great value.”
