Phoenix Cafe Bar is a cafe inside the Abbeydale Sports and Community Centre in Gloucester, set at the back of Morrisons. “Friendly, comfy seating, good food, dog friendly. I’ve been a few times with friends or just the dog and I and it’s never failed to satisfy. Tea is fine, coffee is good but the hot chocolate is my preferred drink. Always served at just the right temperature too. Definitely try one of the Siodli’s ice creams (made in South Wales) . They’re all excellent: rich flavoured and not too sugary. The café serves Scoops ice cream for dogs too. For hot food try the halloumi burger or bacon & sausage bap. Either is good. Prices are pretty much standard for the quality of food (good) these days. Staff are always lovely and friendly. Parking is unpredictable as the adjacent car park is shared with the community centre and anyone attending a sports event in the playing field nearby.”

“Don't waste your time if you have children. Walked in for a coffee and come ice cream to take to the park. Because I had a childs scooter in my hands at the time the rude man behind the bar refused to serve stating 'I don't make the rules', no offer for coffees and wait outside. It was a cold, unwanted welcome to a local community cafe, not the atmosphere we should should have in a community setting. He clearly didn't want the business and I'll be stopping at Morrisons on future walks to the park for coffee and snacks going forward. Horrible experience, unfriendly and isolating especially if you're on your own as a parent.”

“Music today was not for the family, Raggae all afternoon, it's great if you like that genre of music. However after 10 tracks it needed changing. Apparently Mark whose in charge of music wouldn't change it when asked twice. Arrogance at least. I won't go back.”

“Absolutely disgusted... We all walked down on new years Day as it was open till 5pm... Got there around 2 to find the carpet area closed off. (Again ). Which is fine but there was no other seats and it was busy... Asked the lady if we could go on the carpet area as we were not muddy... She said. NO. I've said please as there's no other seats and there was other people arriving... She said. NO. It's been cleaned... My friend asked why as it's 3 hours till closing she still said. NO. So we said we will have to leave and she shrugged her shoulders. WOW. Where's the nice older man gone.”
