About Curious Cafe & Bistro
Curious Cafe & Bistro is a cafe in Cheltenham at 204 Bath Rd, with garden-themed decor and a covered garden. The menu runs from a full English breakfast with sausages, black pudding and hash browns to a Thai prawn wrap and French toast with maple syrup. A granola pot and matcha cover lighter orders. For something sweeter, the naughty hot chocolate comes with Baileys. Tables are shared, and orders are placed online through a QR code at the table. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast plates draw the most praise, led by a Full English with delicious sausages, crispy black pudding and flavourful hash browns in portions one diner calls massive. French toast with the right amount of maple syrup, a granola pot, matcha and a naughty hot chocolate with Baileys also earn praise, and one reviewer singles out the wraps. Most describe the staff as friendly and welcoming, and the covered garden, with blankets and lighting, is called gorgeous and cosy, with dogs welcome. The complaints are specific. One breakfast party waited an hour from ordering to food arriving, and another says they were urged five times to order despite already ordering by QR code. One diner says a Thai prawn wrap spilled its filling and dressing across the table, was inedible, and stayed on the bill despite an apology. A parent without a booking felt unwelcome when offered a shared table with no room for a pushchair or high chair. Still, another parent recalls staff handing their child crayons and a picture to colour.

“We always pop into this café and, up until now, everything has been pretty much perfect. The food is usually excellent, the staff are friendly, and we’ve always enjoyed our visits. We completely understand that mistakes happen, which is why it’s disappointing to be leaving this review. On this visit, we ordered a jacket potato, a breakfast dish, and the Thai prawn wrap. As soon as I picked up the wrap, almost all of the filling fell straight out onto the table. There was so much liquid from the Greek yoghurt dressing and oil that it ran across the wooden table, leaving a stain. My partner tried to carry on eating it, but it was completely inedible as the filling and dressing just kept pouring out of the wrap. A member of staff did come over and apologise, which we appreciated. However, what was disappointing was that, despite us barely eating any of the wrap because it simply wasn’t edible, it wasn’t removed from the bill or offered as a gesture of goodwill. We’ll still come back because we’ve always had such positive experiences here, but we hope this was just a one-off and that situations like this are handled a little differently in the future.”

“I went here with my son for breakfast this morning for the first time. The place was so cute and my granola pot and matcha were delicious! Staff were lovely and gave my little one some crayons and a picture to colour. Can’t wait to come back. It’s also dog friendly too!”

“Great food, but service…could be improved. Sat down for only 3-4mins before we were impatiently urged 5 times over the next minute to order, even though we were already doing that online via the QR code. Food was delicious, though. Special mention to the wraps.”

“We were looking for somewhere to stop for a bite to eat on Monday with my little boy and stopped here in hope that they had space. We hadn't booked but the lady moved some things around and said she could fit us in. We were shown to a "shared" table and given a space with 2 chairs. Nowhere for the push chair or for a high chair. We were trying to squeeze everything in and the lady came back to reiterate the limit to the space we were able to occupy. We left because I didn't feel welcome. Such a shame as the place had been on my list to try, and I won't be coming back for that now, with or without my child.”
