Quick info
About Fonn Mór
Fonn Mór is a restaurant and late-night piano and wine bar in the old Vestry of Oran Mór, part of the Oran Mór venue at 730A Great Western Rd in Glasgow's West End. Pianists play live in the room, which gives late-night drinkers and diners a place to stay on after dinner. The kitchen serves small plates for sharing from an à la carte menu, and a set dinner menu is also offered. At the bar, the team pours wine and classic cocktails and can suggest a cocktail. Seating includes tables near the bar and small round tables by the door, and the interior is new after a recent makeover. Fonn Mór is open Thursday to Sunday and closed Monday to Wednesday.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly service, with several calling servers lovely and attentive and one diner noting a server took every à la carte order for a table of six without writing anything down. Another praises a server's knowledgeable cocktail recommendations. Food is called delicious, with generous portions, and the new interior moody and cosy. A few mention the live piano, one calling it great but too loud for the setting. Complaints are specific. One reviewer without a booking was seated by a drafty open door while main tables stayed empty, found the mains average, and heard no piano on a Friday evening. Another found the website a jumble and thought they had booked. One overheard a barman criticising a female colleague's perfume. The unhappy diner's forgotten brownie arrived very late, and they left a reduced tip.

“Loved the food, service great. Figuring how your website was not as pleasant. Could use some clarity as to what is available when and where. The website is a jumble, so we didn’t get the experience we were looking forward to, thought we had booked.”

“Was in this establishment over the weekend with my lovely wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Drinks were great and reasonably priced given the West End location. Bar and wait staff were absolutely fantastic, so friendly and attentive. However, I must note, the male barman in the shirt needs to watch the way he is speaking to his female staff. We were sat right by the bar and had overheard a few comments made about a young girls perfume being offensive and off-putting to customers. Personally we found the smell rather appealing!”

“We went for some food and drinks. Regan served us and she was so lovely and friend. Between her great service and the lovely live piano music we had a great evening!”

“I was playing the Bagpipes at a wedding in Oran Mor on the 8th of February 2026. After I played, I wanted to do some work and stay out the way of the Wedding guests as to not disturb them, I popped into Fonn Mor and saw Jules who was so lovely and offered me a drink. When I asked for a decaffeinated tea, she was so helpful and brought me a box full of them that I got to pick. She was so positive, lovely and was really funny. I then got chatting to Sophie who was also working there, she was so lovely and was up for the banter! I will most certainly be returning to Fonn Mor on a nonworking day. The vibes were so good and the staff were just so lovely. Thank you, Jules and Sophie :)”
