About Falafel To Go

On Sauchiehall St in Glasgow, Falafel To Go is a falafel restaurant that keeps its menu to just two choices, a falafel wrap or hummus. The whole shop is vegetarian and vegan, with no meat products on offer. The falafel wrap is made fresh to order and comes packed with falafel, hummus, veg, and sauce, wrapped tightly in paper. There's no seating on site, so orders are for takeaway. Service is walk-in, with orders taken at the counter, and card payment is accepted. The shop opens daily, and a queue down the street is common at busier times. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance means visitors with mobility needs can reach the counter without difficulty.

Customer Review Summary

The falafel wrap is what reviewers return for, described as fresh, hot and herby, with falafel that is crunchy outside, soft in the middle and not dry. Diners point to the generous packing of hummus, salad and sauce, and several call it a bargain, with one saying it left them stuffed. Close behind is the quick, friendly service from the owner, who makes each wrap fresh, and the short, simple menu of falafel or hummus, which reviewers describe as entirely vegetarian and vegan friendly. One visitor came three times during a short stay in Glasgow. The caveats are small. One reviewer wanted a spicier sauce option and did not find the wrap filling enough, a couple mention a queue down the street on other visits, and one notes there is nowhere nearby to sit, so another reviewer ate on a bench. Even so, one reviewer who arrived at a peak time received an apology for a short wait and still called the wrap fabulous.

“Stunning falafel wrap here! Super fresh and hot and herby, the falafels and wrap had a great crunch, and were lovely and soft in the middle. Great amount of veg and sauce too - a bargain for just £5, and the service was quick and friendly”

“Honestly my favorite spot in Glasgow, and absolutely the best Falafel I have had outside of my home country! Prices are very fair and service is excellent :D”

“Always had a massive queue when I've gone to get a bite before but not today. The chef was pleasant and was happy to answer my questions about the menu. I opened for the falafel wrap with everything on it for a fiver as I was pretty hungry. The wrap was put together and cooked in maybe a minute and a half at most. You get it in a bag then wrapped with a napkin and some paper inside. It's not going to spill out anyway it's very tightly packed and made. Sat on a bench nearby to eat it and it was just amazing. Genuinely the best food I've had to eat in town. A proper flatbread wrap just totally packed with falafel, hummus and veg. It's a big filling piece of food that comes warm and at an incredibly reasonable price given what some places charge for far less. As a vegetarian who loves hummus and falafel I certainly get a bit of fomo seeing so many well liked takeaways in town that do deal in meat too but this was just amazing. This is clearly a guy who knows what he's doing as it's almost never quiet and I can see why. Cannot recommend any higher. Truly the best falafel in town!!”

“Hands down the best falafel wrap I have ever had, and I have had a lot!! Came here three times through my short stay in Glasgow and will dream about these falafel wraps forever. So fresh, full of all the good healthy things and incredible flavours!!! Also very affordable and an easy meal for a backpacker like myself! 10/10 do not miss it”
  • Ryan
“Quality over quantity with the menu as the options are falafel or hummus. Great lunch scran under blue skies for only a fiver”
