Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come mainly for the fish and chips, praising flaky fish under crispy batter that isn't greasy, and several say it is cooked fresh and arrives hot. One visitor compares it favourably to fish and chips in New Zealand. Close behind are the curry sauce, described as tasty with decent heat, a haggis supper called the best one had in the city, and chips and gravy that other diners were seen ordering. One reviewer also praises a crispy-based pizza and a comforting soup. The staff come across as friendly and welcoming, with one server patiently explaining the menu to a first-time visitor, and a reviewer was pleased to find a halal-separate cooking option. Local regulars are noted among the customers. The only reservations are mild: chips described as about average, a short wait for fresh fish, and a setting called pretty basic. Salt and vinegar are applied generously, and one diner ate the takeaway fish and chips at the tables out front.

“A cozy place with lovely staff and lovely local regulars. Had a little chat with two Glaswegian wifies who eat here once a week. Cheers to them:) Love from Norway!”

“We were craving Fish & Chips once we hit Glasgow. Pubs were all packed so we were actually happy to find this smaller place that offers take away and has some tables inside. They had a lot of options…but ended up just doing fish and chips. Fish was good, lots of salt and vinegar. Everyone there seemed nice. We did take away but ate at some of the tables out front. It’s pretty basic..but that’s what we wanted. Chips and gravy looked pretty good as we saw quite a few others order that.”

“We were in Glasgow and and felt like fish and chips for lunch. After searching we managed to find one within our location. I enquired about whether they cook their fish and chips separately from their meat e.g Halal and was pleasantly surprised that they offered this option. The place as you can see from the pictures was of a standard size but spacious and the atmosphere was of a homely feel. The food portions were just right for the price point and the menu is full of different food varieties. Staff were very friendly, helpful and very welcoming. If you are looking for a very friendly place with very good food standard then this is your place. Definitely Recommended.”

“Great traditional chippy. Food is always fresh and straight out of the frier hot and tasty. The batter and chips are not greasy or oily. They are perfectly crisp they way …”
