About Skoosh

On Main St in Glasgow, Skoosh is a café, breakfast restaurant and tea room with seating for around 16. A traditional Scottish breakfast anchors a wide range of morning choices, and the kitchen also serves baked potatoes with cheese and burgers with cheese and bacon, both with a side salad, and toasties with coleslaw and crisps. Coffee arrives in large mugs and tea comes by the pot. Dogs are welcome inside and are brought water or a saucer of sausage pieces. There is no booking, and the café operates on a walk-in basis, opening daily during the day only. High chairs are set out for families with young children, and a step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs. Outdoor seating adds space for those who prefer to eat outside. Takeaway orders are taken from a window next to the counter, for those eating off site.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast draws the most praise at Skoosh, with reviewers describing a traditional Scottish breakfast, premium-tasting bacon and sausage, and sausage rolls, alongside a latte served in a big mug. Close behind are home-made lunches: a burger with cheese and bacon, toasties with coleslaw and crisps, chicken noodle soup, and a bagel with avocado and poached egg. Pots of tea and iced coffee also get mentions. Dog owners repeatedly note that dogs are welcome inside, with water supplied and one saucer of sausage pieces brought out unprompted. Many describe friendly, chatty owners and staff, and call the value good, though one reviewer calls the interior dated. The criticisms are specific. One diner found the baked potato dry with little filling and the burger greasy with a soggy bun, and waited ten minutes before asking for service. Another says drinks never arrived until they went back to ask, and a third describes an abrupt, begrudging reception when told takeaway orders go through the outside window. One reviewer says staff kept scones aside for them while they finished shopping.

“Lovely food and a friendly welcome for ourselves and our two doggies. Had only planned on a morning coffee but ended up with a full breakfast which we did not regret one bit. 😁😋 We will return on our next trip to Drymen for sure which hopefully will not be too far away. 😊”

“Called into Skoosh on the off chance and we weren't disappointed. First of all they allow well behaved dogs in and supplied them with water. We ordered a tea and Cappuccino plus a Baked Potato with cheese and a Burger with cheese and bacon, both came with side salad. The baked potato was on the large size and the Burger was one of the best we've ever had, and the drinks were lovely. The café is on the smallish size but it can accommodate 16 people with plenty of room for everyone. The service was first class and the staff were extremely friendly they also do takeaways. If you're passing through Drymen on your travels I recommend a stop at Skoosh.”
