About The Birch Café
The Birch Café is a family-run cafe in Dumbarton, at Unit 3 on an industrial estate. A kids' play area outside gives parents with young children a place for them to play. The menu starts with a full breakfast, which comes in a vegan version that includes veggie sausage. For heartier meals, the kitchen serves steak pie, and vegetarian options appear across the menu. Cakes can be bought to take home.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the main draw at this family-run cafe, with reviewers pointing to the full breakfast as rich and delicious, and one describing the Scottish breakfast they were hoping for. Cakes come close behind, with one reviewer calling them out of this world and another taking some home. Beyond that, diners mention a meat feast loaded fries order for delivery, a steak pie with good steak, and a lasagne. Vegetarian and vegan options come up too. In one case the veggie sausage had run out, and the team made up for it with extra of something else. Portions are described as big, and reviewers repeatedly call the food cheap and good quality. The staff are described as friendly, down to earth and humorous, and several mention the kids' play area outside. One family left with a drawn picture of a bear and a cat after their daughter drew one for the team.

“First time ordering from The Birch, I ordered the meat feast loaded fries for delivery. Fantastic, excellent selection of quality meats including pork and steak on top of golden crispy fries and topped with a special sauce. A lot of different flavours which complement the meat, everything cooked to perfection and well presented with scallions on top. Would highly recommend.”

“On an away day from down south, I needed a good Scottish breakfast. Breakfast as hoped for……cost £6 and change, including tea. Shout out to server who was excellent. Clean and bright cafe tucked away in a industrial estate. Parking was free.”

“What a lovely place Burch cafe is! Staff are absolutely delightful and the price is killer. We stopped in for breakfast and were not disappointed. They were out of the veggie sausage for the vegan breakfast but were more than happy to give us extra of something else to make up for it so wasn’t a problem at all. We left buzzing that we’d got a full brekky for a fiver each and been served by such lovely staff. We didn’t ask the name of the brunette girl who served us but she made our morning how lovely she was. Definitely recommend.”
