About Cafe Strange Brew
Cafe Strange Brew is a cafe in Glasgow at 1082 Pollokshaws Rd, open daily and for the daytime only. Brunch here starts with pancakes topped with pistachio mascarpone and cherries, a sweet plate that sits alongside a savoury menu including chorizo hash. A board lists the daily specials, with one savoury and one sweet option, so regulars and first-timers alike can check what has been added before ordering. On the drinks side, the coffee list includes Vietnamese iced coffee, which pairs with the brunch plates. Hash browns and chilli jam are available as sides for building out a plate. The cafe usually has a queue to get in at busy times.

Customer Review Summary
The caveat is the queue and the kitchen's consistency. One reviewer waited an hour and found the Turkish eggs cold and small, the coffee standard, and the menu unremarkable. Another found the chorizo hash lacking in flavour and pricey for the bowl. Tables are described as a bit close together. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and service quick, and one reviewer arrived early to beat the line before a breakfast of fish tacos and a good selection of hot sauces.

“We had a very nice visit to Cafe Strange Brew! The entire experience was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food, everything was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully served. What made our visit truly special was the kind and welcoming personnel. A special shout-out to Eva, who was so welcoming and helpful throughout our time there. Thank you Eva for the great service and friendly attitude. A wonderful spot with fantastic food and even better hospitality. A well-deserved 5 stars”

“Went here with my daughter for breakfast. She had been for lunch before and thought it was excellent. However, she was disappointed with the Chorizo Hash - thought it was expensive for what was in the bowl, dome of the chorizo was well fired in pkaces. Flavour profile was lacking. Has had better else where. My black pudding roll was excellent, the haggis was tasty and 2 thick slices. loads of butter, crispy roll and only £P4. Pot of tea, with extra water £2.75. Tumbler of water given as soon as you sit, which is great. Tables a bit close together.”

“Went for brunch today and had the pancakes special from the board and my dad had the Stornoway stack, we got the hash browns and chilli jam as sides, all were delicious. Friendly staff and quick service.”

“Called in for a coffee and decided to try the pancake stack, and I’m so glad I did—it was absolutely excellent! This is a lovely little café with a really welcoming atmosphere. It was very busy at lunchtime, which is always a good sign, but the short wait was definitely worth it. The food was delicious, the coffee was great, and the service was friendly throughout. We’ll certainly be back and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat.”

“We’ve tried many times to dine at cafe strange brew but there has always been a line. Finally turned up early enough to beat the crowd and we were not disappointed. The breakfasts were delicious. The fish tacos were super tasty and the poached eggs, bacon and avo muffins were solid. To top things off they have a great selection of Hot Sauces!!!”
