Customer Review Summary

Homemade soups and a wide array of cakes draw repeated praise, with the cappuccino and breakfast also singled out as reasons regulars keep returning for breakfast, lunch, or a coffee with a friend. Many describe the space itself as cosy and homely, some noting a "everybody knows each other" feel and friendly, attentive table service, with a few adding that staff happily altered dishes on request. Outdoor seating tucked away from the main road and rapid table service come up more than once as pluses, though parking is flagged by one reviewer as a drag. A recurring complaint cuts against the warmth others describe: a couple of reviewers report staff turning sarcastic, rude, or dismissive when asked basic questions about food or a small order query, with one saying they'd noticed it "a couple of times." Otherwise the visits described end simply, with one couple served soups they called homemade and tasty and told they'd definitely be back.

“The food in here is good but sadly some members of staff pull the place down. I had a small query over an order and they seem unable to deal with it. Sarcastic and rude is their response. I have noticed this a couple of times in this place!”

  • Hilda Richards
“What a lovely local spot for lunch. Being new to the area, we took a chance coming in here, for a bite to eat The bistro was already busy, but we were immediately shown to our table by the friendly gentleman on the door. The wait staff were attentive and efficient. We both had different soups, which were clearly homemade and really tasty. We will definitely be back.”
