About Finnieston Fez
Finnieston Fez is a Moroccan cafe on Argyle Street in Glasgow, opened in 2020 as the first of its kind in the city. All of the food is halal, and the menu includes vegan-friendly options for those who eat plant-based. Brunch follows a Marrakesh theme and includes shakshuka, while tagines cover the heartier plates. Moroccan mint tea, known as atay, comes alongside coffee in a range of flavours and homemade lemonades. The cafe is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Moroccan mint tea is the drink reviewers raise most, and several pair it with fresh lemonades, an iced tea and pistachio coffee. Close behind are the food orders: the Moroccan sausage panini, the aubergine panini and baguette, tagines, fava bean soup, and a share platter of from-scratch dips. One reviewer calls the warm bread and pistachio halva at the Marrakesh breakfast the best they have had, and another says the amlou tastes like home. Diners describe a cosy, relaxing room with great music and low cushioned window seats, and they repeatedly call the owner and servers sweet and friendly, though one notes the space is tight for a group of six. The sharpest complaint comes from a vegan diner whose brunch for two arrived staggered and well past the quoted time. They report being served cream cheese in place of a vegan item and getting bread that was not warm. The manager apologised but blamed the kitchen, and the replacement msemmen arrived warmer but soured the visit.

“Absolutely stunning place. Really special. Everything made fresh with real care. Don't go in a rush, you'll want to take your time enjoying the lemonades, teas and coffee. We had the share platter (all fresh, from scratch dips). Tagines looked VERY good. Will be back!”

“Experimenting good things in life (has to be one of this). Amazing food. Cute little place to try tasty food if you still haven’t. Very classic menu with lots of things on it. My fav was the iced tea. Delicious and fresh. The owner was working the day i went and he was so sweet and kind. Had a wee chat with him about the arabic restaurants around. Very good nature. Must try place.”
