Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return for the mixed grill, with reviewers praising the juicy gammon and steak and describing it as cooked to perfection from good quality produce. Close behind is the roast dinner, called fresh and not dry, with a small fish and chips and the desserts also getting praise. Reviewers describe a hearty, delicious menu with a large choice, and mention the Manchester craft beer and a Lee original larger. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly and helpful, and two groups say they stayed until closing, one playing card games, without being hurried out. The complaints are specific. One reviewer says a waitress served warm wine on a hot day, offered a glass of ice and responded rudely when questioned, until another waitress poured from a chilled bottle. Others fault the chips, wanting real ones or more of them, and one finds it not great for gluten free. One reviewer who came on a Sunday without booking had to wait for a table. One diner was passed a voucher by a couple at the next table.

“Questionable service from the blonde waitress at lunchtime today, who poured us warm glasses of wine in 25 degree heat and when we questioned, gave us a glass of ice and said ‘that’s all I can do’ along with an awful attitude. The situation was eventually rectified when I suggested myself to the other waitress, that they pour us a glass from a bottle that had been in the fridge over night, rather than the half empty one than had been out on the side in the ‘ice bucket’ for 2 hours. It’s suggested that all the wine should be kept in the fridge due to the current heat. When advising the original waitress how she could have handled the situation, she was shockingly rude whilst smirking. She is really letting the pub down, as Nathan and the brunette waitress were brilliant and gave us fantastic customer service.”

“Popped in yesterday with my dad and uncle for lunch and have to say that the bar service and especially the food was absolutely outstanding 👍😋 We had the mixed grill (be rude not to 😁) and was cooked to perfection using really good quality produce. We also had a small fish and chips which was also excellent 👌. We give the netherton hall a 5 star rating 👍”

“Had a great meal here, the mixed grill was spot on, couldn't fault it., really juicy gammon and steak, all was perfect. The staff were super friendly, efficient and accommodating...we came from North Wales to meet family there from Bolton and stayed until the doors were locked without realising, we were not made to feel like the nuisances we were for one second. We'll definitely be back. Well done all!”
