  “Service is absolutely dreadful, and makes you feel like you’re an inconvenience by waiting to be served (even when there’s more staff than customers). Staff seem to spend a lot of time polishing cutlery, but leave people stood at the bar. Don’t bother trying to make conversation with the staff or make eye contact- they like to avoid both. Staff really do make it an unbearable atmosphere. No surprise the place seems to be getting quieter and quieter. Everything is overpriced. The food is extremely basic. The barmaid with red hair is nice and friendly though.”

  “Eat here with my family a few weeks ago, really cosy pub in a lovely spot, nice atmosphere and warm service from the staff, served at the bar by Sarah who was really lovely and accommodating and waited on by Jude who was just as friendly, food was lovely we all got the burgers and were recommended the chicken and nacho cheese bite starters all came out hot and portions were great, would definitely come back again.”

  “Really excellent local restaurant / pub. Food is well cooked and presented . Their salads are the best anywhere. Lovely little alcoves , with a traditional long bar for those just wanting a drink. TV in almost everyroom and in some of the alcoves to watch , and plenty of events for watching the world cup. But saying that it doesn't detract from you being able to find a quiet spot to catch up with friends and family .Highly recommend . Service is lovely”

  “We ordered four meals - a chicken and mushroom pie, a steak pie and 2 x fish and chips. The pie tops were burnt and all the food was generally overcooked, and it the food took a long time to arrive. This pub is not significantly cheaper or better value for money than others around it, so honestly expected better.”

  “Booked for mothers day and amazing. Sarah who served us on the till greeted us with a lovely smile,I'm quite fussy with my order but no problems Sarah very happy to help . Sonia served us and came.back to the table, again very smiley and helpful. The food was to die for, lots of food, lovely and hot, presentation great and soooooo tasty. The chips are big and fat and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The only thing I would of done would of had little vases of flowers on the table with it being mothers day. Definitely going back.”

  “Lovely pub. Very comfortable. Varied menu. My partner was very pleased they sold Directors Bitter. Only downside. Quite a few tables had reserved signs. It would help if it stated at what time they were reserved from. This would able these tables to be used until the stated time.”

  “On our way back from Cheshire Oaks and we called in here for lunch. They have some very reasonably priced meals and I tried out the Scampi and chips for main meal and Jam sponge pudding for dessert. Both meals were very tasty and were a good size for the price. They had a good selection of beers and ales and service was excellent. They also have large beer garden outside and quite a big carpark.”
