Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is what most reviewers come for, with beef, lamb and chicken all praised and a massive Yorkshire pudding singled out. Close behind are the children's play area and large garden, which families describe as roomy and secure, with seating in both shade and sun. Starters like halloumi fingers, deep fried squid and French onion soup get good words, and one reviewer recommends the pie of the day. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, including during a packed bar and with a group of 21. Parking is described as easy. The main complaints are specific: one diner found the Yorkshire puddings stale and the meal expensive for what it was, noting website prices differed from in-house ones. The same reviewer found the swings wrapped around the top bar and unusable, and mentioned a persistent problem with wasps. Another parent was told the kitchen could not do mashed potato, veg and gravy for an 8 month old. Even so, several say they will return, and one family stayed seven hours after the kids played all day.

“What a perfect setting for our group of 21 to enjoy a Sunday Roast. The children’s play area is very good & we were situated alongside it which made everything very easy. Fantastic food and beautifully presented with excellent service. The staff were very friendly, helpful, adaptable and clearly know how to work as a team. I had contacted the manager,Thyra, a few times prior to our booking and she was so helpful with my queries. There’s also plenty of parking which makes life easier if you’re travelling a distance. Top marks to Team Surrey Oaks!”

“First time visiting this pub with my family and we ended up spending 7 hours here. We were joined by friends and it was amazing. The food was good and the kids loved it. The kids were entertained all day. There is so much space for the kids to play and in the playground and most of all, it's quite secure! There's various seating areas, in the shade And in the sun ☀️ so it was perfect. The only disappointment I have is that I asked if I could have some mashed potatoes, veg and gravely for my 8 month old baby and I was told “no we don't do that” in my opinion it's not hard to make! we will definitely be visiting the pub again.”

“No harrassment at any stage; fully accommodating staff happy to serve huge meals or snacks. Pleasant environment inside or in the huge garden outside. A place to revisit as we have for the last 30 years. There have been 3 landlords during this period but the ethos remains the same albeit with timely modifications. A great place to visit.”

“A great pub to visit for a Sunday roast. The staff were lovely and very attentive, especially considering how busy they were. Food was plentiful and tasty. Easy parking and in a picturesque part of the Surrey countryside. Highly recommend.”

“Great local gem! Visited on Sunday and ordered roast, beef and chicken. Food was delicious and full of flavour! Fair portions with massive Yorkshire pudding 🍮 👌 We had starters of halloumi fingers delight and deep fried squid pieces, both equally delicious 😋 Service prompt and we definitely will be back! The interior was quirky and cozy! Highly recommend. Price I would say on budget so very helpful 😀”
