About The Wotton Hatch
The Wotton Hatch is a gastropub in Dorking on Guildford Rd, serving modern British and Mediterranean dishes in a setting with cottage-style decor. The menu includes a steak and Malbec pie, and pie appears elsewhere on it too. A lunch menu runs until 5pm. The pub has a garden with landscape views, so the room and the outdoor space both work for a meal. Work events and group meals are hosted here, which suits parties arriving together. Starters run smaller than the mains, so those ordering for a table can plan around the larger main courses.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the mains, with pie the standout: one diner highly recommends the Steak & Malbec pie, and another singles out the pie their wife ordered. Close behind are the lunch menu dishes, including port and cheddar mushrooms, chicken liver parfait, Monkfish Scampi and a goats cheese open sandwich, finished with a raspberry brûlée mini dessert. Several describe generous portions, friendly and attentive staff, and an excellent pudding selection. Reviewers also mention the garden views and that the pub is dog friendly. Criticism is mild but specific. One reviewer found the starters overpriced for their small size next to the mains, and another thought the rotisserie chicken slightly overcooked and a little tasteless. One diner found it odd that the chef arrives an hour after the restaurant opens. At a work event, a vegan option mix-up was fixed quickly when the manager replaced the dishes.

“Popped in for early dinner and was fortunate to be able to order from the lunch menu as they have that option until 5pm! Delicious port and cheddar mushrooms, chicken liver parfait, Monkfish Scampi, Goats cheese open sandwich and finished with a cup of tea and mini dessert (raspberry brûlée). Service was exemplary. Food was tasty and price was competitive. Will be back! Thank you for your service. What a lovely pub!”
