About British Airways Club Lounge (South Terminal) - LGW

British Airways Club Lounge (South Terminal) - LGW is a lounge bar in Gatwick on Perimeter Rd E, open daily. Its self-pour BrewDog bar lets guests draw their own pints, including Speedbird OG, an IPA exclusive to British Airways. Soft drinks and other alcohol are also self-service, while a separate bar near the entrance makes cocktails and mocktails, and a barista bar serves Union coffee. Food runs from a breakfast spread of cooked items, pastries, fruit and yoghurt to a salad bar at lunchtime. Seating is spread over a mezzanine floor, with stools near the food area, high-backed seats and lower chairs by the windows. Those window seats look out across the runway and airfield.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to the food and drink spread, especially the breakfast of sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and hash browns, alongside a lunchtime salad bar. Close behind is the alcohol, with a self-pour bar, a wide spirits and wine selection, and a separate bar for cocktails and mocktails, where one reviewer always orders a bloody Mary. Cheese and onion tarts and the mac n cheese get individual praise, and one reviewer with dietary needs was shown an allergen menu and offered gluten-free bread and biscuits. Several mention runway views, varied seating, plenty of charging points, a children's area and friendly staff who keep plates cleared and stock replenished. Many compare it favourably with the Heathrow lounges. The recurring drawback is crowding: one reviewer found it very busy and struggled to find a seat, while another said the hot food menu was limited and mostly self service. Reviewers also describe being offered jumbo fish fingers and carrot cake alongside the gluten-free bread.

“This lounge by BA at Gatwick is 100 times better than all the ones at LHR Better seating with working charge points for everyone. Food is similar but still better than at LHR. Drink, has a better selection and even a bar offering a selection of cocktails.”

“Gluten Free Food! We don't travel through Gatwick very often but after visiting the BA Club Lounge this week, I am now tempted to more often. The lounge is big, on a level with the LHR T5 B gate one but it was also busy, reminding me of T5 Galleries South. And it has a great view of the apron and runway! However, the stand out was the ability to ask for and be shown the allergen menu (never happened at LHR). Followed up with a pro-active offer of bringing out GF Bread, GF Biscuits alongside freshly cooked hot food (jumbo fish fingers today) and Carrot cake. A huge thank you to Zoe for taking the time and also all the other staff we interacted with inside the lounge itself (LHR lounges, take note). A very friendly lounge throughout staffwise despite the usual mix of 'normal' people and those that are above everyone else.”

“Excellent. Great choice of food and drinks. Plenty of seats. Quiet and calm. Highly recommended.”

“The lounge was good but the hot food menu was limited and was more or less self service.”
  • Nic Banister
“Surprisingly good BA lounge for Gatwick vs Heathrow. Decent size with lots of different types of seating as you would expect - stools near the food area, high backed seats around the sides and lower backed chairs near the windows with the views across the runway. Usual good quality BA good selection. We were there for breakfast so sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and hash browns (as well as baked beans) alongside pastries with jams, fruit and yoghurt. Serve yourself alcohol and soft drinks in the middle with an actual bar near the entrance for cocktails and mocktails. Pretty quiet on a Thursday early morning which was perfect. Even has a mezzanine floor with some seats to get away from it all. Would recommend”
