Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips draws the steady praise here, with reviewers repeatedly calling out perfectly cooked haddock and the standard cod order as reliably good, and the plaice and chips singled out by one diner as a change worth trying. A cone of chips for a small price comes up more than once as a satisfying quick bite, and mushy peas alongside a pot of coffee or tea are named as the regular accompaniments. Portions are described as generous and the food piping hot, with several noting friendly, welcoming counter staff. The recurring complaint centers on order mix-ups, with two diners separately reporting that staff got their cod order wrong and describing the till staff as disorganised and struggling to communicate with each other. Seating comes up as a minor gripe too, with one reviewer knocking off a star because tables are narrow and cramped for groups larger than two, and another mentioning that busy periods can mean a wait for a table.

“Lovely fish and chips. To me this is the best chippy around Doncaster. 3 of us sat down and ate inside their establishment. We enjoyed fish chips mushy peas cup of tea/coffee for £9 each which is not a bad price. It seemed nice and clean. A lovely bright skyline roof let in loads of lighting. Friendly staff. Would recommend this place.”

“Excellent fresh cooked food, the staff are always friendly and helpful. We've knocked off a star sadly because of the size of the tables, they're not very wide and if you've got more than two people sat at a table it can be very cramped.”

“On every visit, the staff somehow manage to mess up my order. Chaotic is an understatement, the lovely ladies at the till seem unable to communicate with each other. On this particular occasion, I came in wanting a regular cod and regular …”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
