About The Grind
The Grind is a Turkish restaurant at 25 High St in Doncaster, built around skewers grilled over a real coal fire and cooked fresh once the order is placed. The menu lists a salmon kebab and a lamb shank, so it includes fish as well as lamb. The kitchen also prepares pasta dishes, burgers, steaks and fajitas, which puts several cooking styles on one menu. Breakfast is part of the line-up too, with a Mediterranean breakfast among the choices.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, welcoming staff, who one diner says treat nothing as too much trouble, and who kept service quick and smooth on busy Saturdays. Food comes close behind, with the lamb shank and farmhouse burger called outstanding, the salmon kebab described as flaky and flavorful, and the Mediterranean breakfast praised for its generous portion and presentation. A few mention the huge cocktail menu, with one saying every drink they tried was delicious. Several describe the atmosphere as calming, nice, or fantastic, and one likes the modern decor. Reasonable prices come up alongside the portion sizes. The one sharply negative account concerns delivery. That reviewer says the food arrived cold and well past the expected time, that the restaurant blamed a wrong postcode they deny giving, and that no compensation followed. They warn others against ordering through delivery apps because the restaurant uses its own drivers. Another reviewer placed a big collection order late at night and arrived just before closing, and still found the staff chill and welcoming.

“It was a massive disappointment as the food looked lovely but warning to others, don't order though deliveroo/delivery apps as they use their own drivers. The food arrived over 1h30mins after the expected delivery time and was cold, when speaking to the restaurant they blamed me for providing the incorrect postcode to which I did not and recived no compensation.”

“Thought we would give this place a try as we have tried all the other Turkish restaurants in doncaster. The food was amazing, the staff so helpful and friendly. My opinion is this is the best out of the lot. Would definately recommend and will definitely return here.”
