Quick info
About El Toro Restaurant
El Toro Restaurant is a Spanish restaurant in Doncaster, set in a small courtyard at 16 The Courtyard. The menu is built around tapas, and an all-you-can-eat option lets diners keep ordering plates through the meal. Dishes arrive as they are ordered, so the kitchen sends food out in turn instead of in a single course. Sangria is sold by the glass or by the litre, which gives a table the choice of individual drinks or a larger measure to share. A service charge is added to the bill automatically.

Customer Review Summary
The caveats are mostly about money and polish. Two reviewers dislike the tip added automatically to the bill, and one says it can be asked to be taken off. Some food is called dry, mid or a touch bland, and one reviewer found the place cramped and dated, with Christmas lights up in summer, plus a note about needing decorating. One diner says a waitress claimed a card payment had not gone through and only found the receipt after being told the bank would be checked.

“Food was alright. Meat was good but other stuff was a bit mid. The annoying thing was the waitress tried to charge me twice. I saw my payment go through on the machine 'approved' etc. then she said she couldn't find it (whatever that means). When I insisted on checking with my bank, she suddenly found the transaction receipt. Was a bit shocked at the incompetence and being accused of not paying. Left a bad taste with me. Shame.”

“Gave this place a try as something different for dinner, and was pleased with the choice. Friendly staff and excellent selection of freshly cooked food. Would go back.”

“Five of us ate at this charming restaurant on bank holiday Monday (end August). We loved the all you could eat tapas and each dish was really tasty. The service was great too. If you are in the area, go find this as you won't regret it. Thanks to the staff for looking after us so well.”

“An absolutely wonderful find, we even travelled 40 mins in the car to have our date night here, the food was amazing and kept coming when we ordered, 3 tapas style meals to start and then 2 after that, sangria was lovely but I advis if you buy 2 for £8.95 each then buy the litre as it works out cheaper, and the only fault I had was there is a tip added on the bill which you can ask to be taken off but we are not American on saying this we will come back”
