About Tut N Shive
Tut N Shive is a pub on W Laith Gate in Doncaster, with little doors mounted on the ceiling as decor. The bar pours beers and Guinness, and the TVs show sports, including racing and Sky channels. A juke box is in the pub too. Food runs to a carvery, plus a pizza and drink deal with the pizzas served in a box. Dogs are welcome, and the team has brought water out for visiting dogs. The pub is close to Doncaster railway station and the shopping centre.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly bar staff are what reviewers mention most, described as cheerful and welcoming, with one noting they brought water for a dog and another that they bend small rules when it doesn't matter. Close behind is the atmosphere, called cosy and a great place to hang out, with friendly regulars, Sky and racing on the screens, and a juke box. Diners single out a good range of beers, a pint of Guinness, and a pizza and drink deal with the pizza handed over in a box for leftovers. The doors fixed to the ceiling get a fond mention. The one complaint is a carvery visit: with a single person on the tills the queue crawled, and the carvery was then declared finished early even though it was still laid out on the counter, with no explanation given.

“This is a cosy pub in the city centre. Returning after a decade, it's become a "local" for me and my friend when we meet because it feels so welcoming. All the bar staff are great and accommodating and cheerful (why isn't this the default?), and willing to be human and tweak the rules just a little when it doesn't matter (I won't say what, but thanks for being awesome). Nice inside outdoor space to have a smoke or vape if you want. And I've just noticed there's still a juke box there 😍 I hope I haven't messed up the food rating - left it blank as I haven't eaten here!”

“Arrived at 1920 for the carvery, the carvery was fully open and stocked as we waited in the queue at the tills to pay. The pub wasn’t overly busy but there was only 1 person on the tills so we waited over 10 mins to get to the front of the queue to place our order. We were then told the carvery had finished early? No real reason or explanation why, it was still all on the counter but we were not allowed to order it even though it was still well within normal carvery ordering hours.”

“Such a warm, welcoming place awaits you. Great staff and really friendly regulars. The pub has a great look with interesting decor. Love the doors on the ceiling! Close to the shopping centre, railway station and hotels. Also, dog friendly which makes a visit possible for dog lovers. I always enjoy visiting the Tut.”
