Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the full English breakfast, which several say was cooked perfectly, though one found the flat white badly made. The Sunday roast beef draws praise as tender, and one diner called it the best roast beef ever. Other dishes singled out include the homemade fish fingers on soft toasted bread in a fish finger sandwich and the Nasi Goreng. Views of the course and hills, friendly service, and kids being well looked after also come up. The main complaint concerns the ox cheek pie, described as very salty, with most of the meal left uneaten. That diner said the waitress passed the comment to the chef and then cancelled an Easter Sunday booking for nine. Another reviewer was put at the high tables for a breakfast visit because regular tables were held for lunch. One group finished the Sunday sharing platter for four only by taking the leftovers home in a doggy box.

“Had breakfast here yesterday and the full English did not disappoint, everything was cooked perfectly and the coffee was lovely. The lady who served us was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. I’ve also been here a few times for both breakfast and lunch, and it’s consistently great. Highly recommend!”

“Had the Sunday dinner sharing platter for 4. Fantastic value for money, quality of food was excellent and the beef was so tender. Had to have a doggy bag/box to take home what we couldn’t finish.”

“My husband and I went for food yesterday, we were the only ones in the restaurant it was 4pm. We ordered the ox cheek pie and burger meal. The pie was extremely disappointing, very salty and at £22 not cheap. My husband’s burger was raw in the middle, we do know if beef you can eat it and because he was hungry he did but said she shouldn’t have. I told the very nice young waitress that the pie was very salty, I literally left most of the dinner… she said she’d tell the chef! We paid £55 with tip for what can only describe as a very disappointing meal to which I’d booked Easter Sunday for nine people I’ve since cancelled. We used to visit a lot but unfortunately won’t be again. My only regret was I didn’t kick up more of a fuss whilst I was there.”
