About Shiny Tap - Brewery Taproom
Shiny Tap is a brewery taproom and pub in Derby, set within the Old Hall Mill Business Park on Alfreton Rd in Little Eaton and attached to its own brewery. The taplist carries 10 craft keg beers and 4 cask ales, mostly UK and locally brewed, and the kegs and casks go from tank straight into the cellar. Three large fridges hold cans and bottles, and the bar also stocks wine, cider, gin, soft drinks and snacks. Food comes from rotating street food vendors, and pizzas are served inside. The venue also holds regular events and live music. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return mainly for the beer, a wide spread of keg and cask, with hazy IPAs and a 4 Wood Cask Bitter singled out, and the Double Damson sour drawing praise from one visitor. Close behind is the takeaway range, with big fridges of cans and bottles that several mention taking home, and one reviewer said staff offered tasters. Pizza also gets credit, though one notes the base was premade, and a food shack in the garden serving burgers earns a mention. Food is described as limited, which one reviewer accepts since the focus is the beer. Parking is the recurring complaint: it can be an issue at busy times, the nearby car park is not well lit at night, and one first-time visitor found the place awkward to locate. Reviewers also describe a friendly, relaxed taproom with live music at weekends, a large outdoor area, dog and child friendly visits, and toilets that one reviewer calls immaculate, which they say are always kept that way.

“Great beer and nice atmosphere. Limited food options but not unexpected as this is all about the beer. Nice to see live music sets available at weekends. I think this will soon be out growing its space. Love the beers just a Shame one if us had to drive 😜”

“Discovered this by chance visiting pub across road. Bar staff were amazing, gave use a few tasters and really pleasent to deal with. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They have an outdoor area but way to cold for that. Overall very impressed and will 100% be coming back. Even took a few pints home to enjoy.”

“Good, knowledgeable staff with a great range of locally brewed beers, both keg and cask. Parking can be an issue at busy times and the close by parking area is not well lit at night. If you're not local Shiny beers are worth seeking out especially if you're a fan of hazy IPAs.”

“Been here a few times and always a good visit. Family friendly and dog friendly. The food was great with pizzas inside and a recent addition of a food shack in the garden which did amazing burgers!”
