About Middlemore Farm
Middlemore Farm is a real ale pub in Daventry, set in an old Grade II listed farmhouse on Hidcote Way with open fireplaces and timber beams, and it overlooks unspoilt countryside. The pub is open daily and has a spacious interior, so groups fit comfortably, and dogs are welcome at the tables. The menu covers roast chicken and a selection of steaks, with triple-cooked chips served alongside the sirloin. Beef pie comes in beef and ale and beef and malbec versions, and lamb shanks are also listed. Roast beef with a Yorkshire pudding is served on the weekend roast menu, and cauliflower cheese is offered as a side. A two-course set menu gives another way to order, and vegetarians have dedicated choices. On the drinks side, the pub pours real ales alongside Guinness and a range of other beers. The patio is there for summer days.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast draws the most mentions, and reviewers split on it. Some describe hot, generous plates, including roast beef, while one diner found the roasties hard and reheated, the meat dry, and the promised stuffing and crackling missing, though the Yorkshire pudding was big and impressive. The beef pie comes close behind, with one reviewer loving its red wine gravy and another describing pastry uncooked at the bottom and sides. Also praised are the sirloin steak with triple-cooked chips, lamb shanks and creamy mushroom starters, while a schnitzel and an apple and cherry crumble with barely any crumble drew complaints. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and accommodating, and the spacious room keeps a cosy pub feel. One reviewer says a server admitted ignoring their table because no menus were on it. A birthday group was surprised with a card for the guest of honor.

“We had such a lovely experience here! The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and welcoming throughout our visit. We were there celebrating my sister’s birthday, and they even surprised her with a lovely birthday card — such a thoughtful touch that really made the occasion feel special. The food was delicious. I had the sirloin steak, which was cooked perfectly, and the triple-cooked chips were absolutely delicious! There’s a great variety on the menu, so there’s something to suit everyone. The pub itself has a really relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and is very spacious, making it a great place to enjoy a meal and spend time together. Overall, a fantastic experience and somewhere we’d happily come back to. Highly recommended!”

“We were a group of 5 adults plus our dog. We came for Sunday much, 3 of us had a roast, mum had lamb shanks and my husband had the beef and ale pie. We were greeted so well on arrival with very friendly staff and drinks were ordered and delivered promptly and efficiently. The food all arrived together and was hot and generous in portion size. We all said how much we’d enjoyed our meals and I would definitely retrying. I’ve left a positive review also on Tripadvisor as it’s always easy for people to moan but when it’s good often reviews don’t get left. Many thanks to your staff for such an enjoyable meal xx”

“It’s a really good pub. It’s really spacious but still has a cosy pub feel and atmosphere. We had the beef pie, roast beef and cauliflower cheese which was all incredibly tasty (I especially loved the red wine gravy served with the pie). The drink selection was very good too with some nice beer options. All of it was reasonably priced. Staff were all smiley, friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to return.”

“A congenial pub atmosphere, wonderful period features, a gorgeous setting overlooking unspoilt countryside, and delicious food make Middlemore Farm in Daventry extra special. Housed in a wonderful old Grade II listed farmhouse, our real ale pub blends modern rustic décor with amazing period details. High ceilings and timber beams tower above tastefully furnished and decorated dining areas. Relax and enjoy the sun and the country air on our patio in summer. On cooler days, take shelter indoors and get cosy surrounded by beautiful original features like open fireplaces. Food for all is our mantra. We do roast chicken, or for those who love a good grill, we have a selection of steaks. Our menu also has excellent choices for vegetarians. Fin...”
