About Old Olive Bush
Old Olive Bush is a reopened village pub in Flecknoe, set roughly a 20-minute walk from canal bridge 102 along the lane into the village. The pub welcomes dogs and has a garden out back, with easy parking on site. Inside, the bar pours Landlord, Murphy Stout, and Madri on tap. The kitchen turns out a Sunday roast with options like half lamb and half beef, served with vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, gravy, and a separate pot of cauliflower cheese, while the fish and chips draw regulars through the week. The room has the feel of a country local with a relaxed front-of-house and straightforward table service. Walk-ins settle in across the bar and dining areas, and the team works the floor with the kind of attentiveness suited to a small village setting.

“We moored our narrow boat at bridge 102 in order to visit The Old Olive Bush for an evening meal. We walked to the pub which takes about 20 minutes from the canal, but it's an easy walk along the lane into Flecknoe village. The pub was beautifully refurbished and owner was friendly. Our dog was also made welcome. We all had sausage and mash which was unbelievably tasty, the best we've ever eaten. Sticky toffee pudding and lemon tart were also delicious. We really enjoyed our evening and would definitely recommend a visit.”

“Return visit today to this recently reopened village pub in Flecknoe to try out their Sunday roast after a recent weekday visit from our canal boat. The roast didn’t disappoint. I had half lamb, half beef both of which were excellent. Plenty of veg, Yorkshires and gravy with separate helping of cauliflower cheese. The beer was excellent and well kept by Josh the new landlord. Will be returning.”
