Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is the centre of most visits, with diners praising the mixed roast and the duo roast, including chicken, beef, pork, yorkshires and cauliflower cheese, and several calling the service friendly without being overbearing. Close behind, reviewers single out the cocktails, a Pina Colada and a well-balanced drink from the bartender, along with a lamb rump and a creme brulee with raspberry coulis. Dog owners describe being given treats, toys and fresh water, and one calls it truly dog friendly rather than merely tolerant. The main complaint is slow food and dry cooking. One Sunday roast for two arrived with overcooked sirloin, chicken and a crisp yorkshire pudding, and the replacement sirloin and parsnips were still tough. Another diner found medium rare steaks well done and the fries cold, after a long gap between starters and mains, though the calamari was good. A third found the roast chicken a little dry and the busy upstairs restaurant noisy. One reviewer who had a side plate and a stuck-together drinks menu had both fixed promptly by the waitress.

“In a lovely area. The ground floor is the bar and on our visit there were lots of people with dogs. The upstairs was the restaurant. We had Sunday lunch. Roast chicken was nice but a little dry, could have done with more gravy but to be fair I didn't ask for anymore. Roast potatoes were very good. Decent size meal. The restaurant was very busy which made it rather noisy.”

“We have visited Eynsford many times over the years, but this was our first visit to The Plough Inn, and we were genuinely impressed. The venue is much larger than it appears from the outside, with plenty of spacious dining areas as well as outdoor seating. Everything was clean, well maintained and comfortable. The toilets were particularly spacious, spotless and fully functional, which is always appreciated. We were offered one of the most pleasant and cosy tables upstairs, right next to a window, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The waiter was exceptionally polite, attentive and very helpful when recommending dishes and assisting us with our choices. The prices were reasonable and very much in line with what you would expect elsewhere, so we felt the overall value was excellent. Most importantly, the food was delicious. Every dish was beautifully prepared, and the quality of the ingredients was outstanding. We had a wonderful experience and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. From now on, whenever we come to Eynsford, The Plough Inn will definitely be one of our regular stops. Highly recommended.”

“We visited for Sunday roasts which were memorable. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. The atmosphere was relaxed, complemented by the lovely surroundings. Definitely recommend.”

“From the moment I walked in, we were greeted with a very smiley & friendly lady called Alex. We were taken to our table and served by Steph who once again was so polite and friendly. My daughter and I had Pina Collada cocktails, which was up there with the most incredible cocktails we've had. As for the food. Seriously these chefs excell in what they do. We had the lamb rump with baby potato's & a red wine just. Without exaggeration this was a nicer meal than we had in the Shard. I hope they dont take this off the menu as this was first class. For desert we had the creme brulè with raspberry coulli. Again unreal! Will definitely be back. Thankyou so much.”

“Really disappointed with the Sharing Sunday Roast for 2. We booked for 1.30pm it was full but not massively busy. We waited 50 mins for food to be served. Also drinks, etc took 20 mins to arrive each time we ordered anything. The sirloin and chicken was really overcooked, dry and like leather. The parsnips, potatoes, veg, stuffing was also dry and overcooked and seemed like they been sat out for a long time, keeping warm. I've never had a dryer yorkshire pudding, it was as crispy as a prawn cracker. The waiter replaced the sirloin and parsnips but they were still dry and tough. We were expecting much better quality for the price. Unlikely to return.”
