Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the Sunday roast, with beef roast and pigs in blankets praised as very good, while a vegetarian nut roast that was mostly rice with too much cranberry drew a complaint. Close behind is the lakeside setting, described as lovely and beautiful, and a surprise amongst office buildings and a trading estate. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and a chocolate and raspberry cake is called sensational. Complaints recur around pace and consistency: main meals were slow, drinks took an extremely long wait, and some desserts turned out to be unavailable only after being ordered. One reviewer found a children's pizza undercooked and chips dry, another had to ask several times for the air-con on a hot day, and one says corporate staff were served ahead of waiting customers. A reviewer was also upset to learn tips go to management, and another found the car park signs about entering a registration confusing. Even so, one diner who rated the beef roast highly noted the veg was a little chewy and the meal smothered in gravy.

“Lovely Afternoon at the Wharf, food was great and the service was brilliant, they were all very friendly and attentive, however!!! very upset to hear that the tips go straight to management!! I believe that this is illegal according to the tipping act of 2023! therefore, this needs to be revised asap as the staff on minimal wage deserve the tips that they earnt!”

“Really enjoyed our first visit to The Wharf Pub. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and we ended up spending a few hours there. The food was great, especially thanks to Abi's recommendations. Abi was attentive, friendly, and polite throughout our visit, making us feel very welcome. Her excellent service really made the experience even better. We'll definitely be back!”

“What a gorgeous spot! We stumbled across this by accident but it’s by far the nicest pub in the area. The food was delicious, way better than typical pub grub, and I could not get over how beautiful the views are. Completely unexpected in amongst so many office buildings.”

“Mixed experience: parking is free plenty. Food quantity for large platters isn’t really large and overpriced for a pub. No non alcoholic drinks menu as well? Unfortunately, On weekdays like a Wednesday afternoon in June 2026, when they open at 12pm they have their corporate staff having brunch & lunch and they serve the staff first when open at 12pm before actual customers. The management staff are rude and jump queues over entitled and if challenged say” we work for the company “ etc and of-course they get served first… the view and location is lovely and inside is beautiful too but on the hottest day in summer we had to ask multiple times for the air-con to be turned on with little ones and family that’s a big let down for first time customers. Apart from the place looking nice inside nothing really special about this place tbh that’s well worth coming back. You can go yourself and experience this unless they update their service based on this review…”

“The food was nice, and the setting was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The only downside was the extremely long wait for drinks, which did affect the flow of the evening a little. Overall, a nice place.”
