  “So disappointed with the entire team and the experience. On the 28th of May we had booked the venue for more than 28 people for a wedding reception, We were told to book the food online as it would make things easier on the day, we did all that before the function. On the day from start to finish it was a disaster after the starter we had to wait for more than a hour for the mains and when it arrived the meals were all cold and not cooked well we had to cancel the desserts and it would have taken more than a hour, this is after pre ordering which I thought was not acceptable. I will not strongly recommend anyone who is going to make sure that this doesn’t happen, after all you pay good money to get a good service and food which is of good quality.”

  “We had a fantastic Sunday lunch the starters were huge so we shared them with our children . We both had beef and it was so tender and moist the vegetables were amazing and so well cooked . Unfortunately we didn’t have room for desert as the roast were very good portions and as we were sitting outside maybe the heat didn’t help. The staff were amazing very attentive and polite nothing was too much trouble . The only negative point were the tatty flags hanging on the lampost . We spoke to a nice gentleman who said he was local and he explained they were a protest against a nearby hotel housing migrants. This made my wife feel uncomfortable as she is mixed race British born with Indian heritage. Other than that the whole experience was nice and we intend to visit again .”

  “We had a fantastic Mother's Day lunch here yesterday, and it was the perfect end to a morning spent strolling around Wakehurs. The food was excellent and truly a cut above the usual pub fare—the sea bass my wife and I ordered was delicious, and the roast beef was a hit with my mum. The starters (squid, scallops, and chicken skewers) were all very well done, and we finished with some top-tier desserts: the sticky toffee pudding, rhubarb crumble, and brownie were all hits. I also really appreciated the thoughtful drink selection; as a designated driver, it was great to have so many low-alcohol offerings to choose from. The decor is beautifully maintained, the atmosphere is dog-friendly, and the service made the whole family feel welcome. A brilliant spot for a celebration”

  “We booked for lunch to celebrate international women’s day today and what a great choice of a venue! Our host Anna was incredible and very attentive. Food was good and we had great time. Thank you Anna and happy international women’s day to you, you are great!”

  “Yesterday I came to the Dukes Head for lunch with my sister in law. We have been before and have never been disappointed. All the food was exceptional and the service was brilliant. We even saw the Chef as he cane into the restaurant and we complemented him on the superb cooking. We will definitely be returning.”

  “Patwa: Nais plies an di fuud gud. Mi waif riili lov di "Sticky Toffee and Rum pudding ". English: Lovely place. Food was delicious. My wife said the "Sticky Toffee and Rum pudding" get 15 out of 10.”

  “Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and spacious, friendly staff and excellent service. Also dealt with my unusual allergy very well, such a rare thing to be able to dine out with confidence. Our group of 9 enjoyed all our meals. Can't wait to return.”

  “We went to the Dukes Head for a birthday celebration. We have eaten here before and once again, we were thrilled with our experience. It is a lovely setting, with plenty of options to choose from on the menu. Our food arrived quickly, beautifully presented and hot! Everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. As if all of that were not enough, we had the absolutely delightful Anna as our server. Anna was friendly and welcoming right from the beginning and she laughed and joked with us each time she came to our table. 10/10 service from Anna! Needless to say, we will be returning very soon. Thank you Dukes Head for an incredible experience!”

  “We’ve found this place by accident as we’re desperate to get something to eat after long journey. We’re surprised by its ambience and how friendly the service was. The staff were so attentive. Thank to Dana who looked after us very well. The food was splendid. Well presented, and above standard (or expectation)for pub food. Luckily we dressed smart enough to avoid awkwardness as the place was smart but not overly formal. 🙂 The atmosphere is so relaxed. It was ashamed we couldn’t hang around as long as we wanted. Certainly it was a good impression and won’t mind to revisit there in the future.”

  “Lovely pub restaurant with authentic decor and feel. Menu and pricing are towards the upper end but so is the service and quality of food and drinks! They have fantastic menu, although some more vegetarian options (for mains) would be appreciated. There is a good selection of cocktails and mocktails and all the food was exceptional in taste and presentation. Service was prompt but not rushed and there were plenty of staff about if you needed anything. I was impressed with how well they accomodated for children and even went as far providing the pasta sauce seperately so my daughter could add in whatever she wanted.”
