About Heathy Farm
Heathy Farm is a pub in Crawley, housed in a 500-year-old farmhouse on Balcombe Rd. The original beams and fireplaces are still part of the building, which gives the pub a historic setting for a meal. Orders are placed through an app, and there is no table service.

Customer Review Summary
Weddings and events stand out most, with two couples describing the pub hosting their day, one after their original venue closed a week beforehand, and both praising how the staff fed and looked after every guest. Reviewers also describe friendly, welcoming staff who made room for a family with children, a big outdoor area for sunny days, and a pet-friendly welcome. Chicken schnitzel is singled out, with one diner losing a fight with a friend over its sauce, and others mention cold pints and good food. Three reviewers report problems. One lunch diner describes a musty, flat pint of Abbot, a wait of over an hour, a cold Yorkshire pudding, frozen peas and tasteless sausages on the sausage and mash. Another found the vegan burger dry with rock hard edges and the new potatoes bland. A third mentions vaping inside, smoking in the marquee doorway and a burger with mayo despite being ordered without. The lunch diner was offered an apology and a free dessert, and declined it.

“Poor. We won’t rush back. Staff not interested, people vaping inside, food slow and not as ordered. Burger ordered with no mayo had splash of mayo on, possibly attempted to wipe off. Luckily not an allergy! Marquee just outside the back door with a small gap, apparently fine for people to smoke in that doorway/gap between, stinking out the place with staff squeezing past. Disappointed with GK, could be a great place with proper management.”

“Came on a Sunday, must have been after the standard Sunday rush because the place was dead. Except for the bar. I ordered the vegan burger. My family ordered the roast turkey. My burger was pretty terrible, just basic and minimal with rock hard dry crusty edges that I could have broken a tooth on. It had the smallest amount of sauce so I had to ask for ketchup. Worst of all they served it with the blandest, smooshed new potatoes I've ever seen. Not even a pinch of salt in sight. "Excuse me, but where are the rosemary salt fries?" I exclaimed to the bar staff, who proceeded to tell me the fries aren't vegan, thats why I dont have them. Fair enough. But why are they so unbelievably bland and inedible? Needless to say, I didn't eat the potatoes. Why no rosemary salt at the very least? My families roast looked processed and dry, neither of them were impressed. Sorry Heathy Farm, but we wont be back.”

“Heathy Farm Stopped in for lunch today on our way to the airport. Ordered a pint of Abbot and an Elderflower Cordial. The Abbot was undrinkable; musty, flat and lifeless. As it was a Thursday, I assumed the pipes would be cleaned the next day and let it go, ordered a pint of Cruz instead. No table service so we ordered our food through the app. Herself ordered the the ‘Moroccan Inspired Kebabs’ (see her separate review) and I chose the ‘Sausage and Mash’ - supposedly Cumberland Pork Sausages served on colcannon mash, Merlot and beef dripping gravy, garden peas and a Yorkshire pudding filled with warm caramelised onion chutney and crispy onions. After a wait of over an hour the food arrived and we were asked if we’d like any sauces. When they arrived we had to remove the security seals from the HP Sauce and the Mayonnaise. The Yorkshire pudding and its onion chutney were stone cold, the ‘garden peas’ were frozen and uncooked but at least they’d been thawed; there were no crispy onions (luckily I’d ordered a side of crispy onion rings which were hot), the gravy was appalling, the sausages were tasteless and their texture seemed like they’d been reheated 4 or 5 times. The colcannon mash was hot but badly under seasoned. We were asked if everything was ok and passed on everything that was mentioned above. We got an apology and an offer of a free dessert - I wasn’t willing to chance it! I appreciate that there was an event happening in a marquee in the garden but surely if the skilled staff required to provide advertised services weren’t available, the restaurant should’ve been closed. Absolutely appalling, thoroughly disappointed but not shocked. Don’t waste your time or money.”
