About Aladdin Turkish Restaurant
On Canterbury St in Coventry, Aladdin Turkish Restaurant serves Turkish food with flavoured shisha pipes available alongside the meal, so a pipe can be part of the same visit rather than a separate trip. Complimentary soup and bread are served with the food rather than ordered separately. Chops are among the dishes the kitchen sends out, alongside the rest of the Turkish range. The premises are large and spacious, and the music inside plays loud.

“I go to there by a chance and I was with alot of friends I sat there and they bring food that we were surprised and after we ate the food it was so delicious, so we decided to go and visit them every weekends”

“Didn't see anything I liked. To be fair, though, what's on could have been good, but I eat first with my eyes.”

“This place is one of the worst I have ever been to. Awful service, staff were rude, grimy and horrible atmosphere. Had to walk out. Would never recommend this place to anyone.”

“The restaurant section seems to be closed now. I have been to Aladdin a few times over the years and my latest experience just re-enforced why I haven't been more regularly. Management has changed recently so I thought I'd give this place another chance. The Shisha is hands down the worst I have ever tried; I know my Shisha and these flavours are fake (despite their increase in price). They also cross contaminate the pipes with different flavours; any reputable Shisha cafe would label which pipes are for which flavours so as not to taint the taste. It is slightly disconcerting when you smoke what you believe to be double apple, yet taste water melon. I also ordered a small pot of mint tea, this was £5 which is extortionate for Hillfields and Coventry in general. I politely queried this with the manager after paying and he dismissively replied, 'what shall I do?'. I responded quite simply, 'you could charge a lower price', you'd have more custom for starters I thought (it's really not that difficult). The customer service disappointingly also matched the standard of the Shisha. The music was very loud making it difficult to converse. Cutting our losses myself and my wife walked out after 15 minutes, I dread to think what I smoked into my lungs. This was a Saturday evening on the eve of a second lockdown so I expected it to be extremely busy. It was completely empty, this is a real shame as the property and location have so much potential. It is very spacious unlike other cafes. This will be my final visit.”

Customer Review Summary
Shisha draws the most mentions, and opinion on it splits sharply. One reviewer found the flavours fake, tasting watermelon when double apple was ordered, and called the mint tea extortionate. Others call it great and recently renovated. Food earns warmer remarks: diners call it delicious, with generous portions, reasonable pricing and complimentary soup and bread, and one recommends the chops. Service is the recurring complaint. Reviewers describe rude staff, food slow to reach the table, and a manager who answered a price query dismissively. Two walked out, and one says it suits a night out with the lads rather than a family meal. The music is called very loud and hard to talk over, and a neighbour complains of it carrying into nearby homes in the early hours. One reviewer finds the decor dated and wants more heating. A birthday group, though, found the staff friendly and the drinks fab, and the staff even let them play bollywood and bhangra music.
