Customer Review Summary

Drinks draw the most praise, with reviewers calling the cocktails among the best in Coventry and naming a Mt. FiJi cocktail and a mocktail. Close behind are the lamb skewers, so good one table ordered a second portion, along with sweet and sour pork and egg fried rice, while the spicy beef noodles were called average and lacking aroma. Several describe friendly staff, covered benches outside, and a kitchen open late. Opinions split on the change of ownership. One reviewer says things have stepped up, while others say it has gone downhill, citing a broken patio gate and benches, one worker handling drinks, tables, and karaoke alone, and staff who struggle with English. One reviewer reports a hair in a noodle dish that tasted like instant noodles, and another was charged for a takeaway box. One suggests coming on Sundays and ordering the drinks. Two reviewers say the card machine has been described as broken for months, leaving bank transfer to varying accounts as the only option.

“Food is average but decent, nothing to complain about. The drinks are genuinely amazing, easily the highlight. I regularly bring international friends here and they always struggle because most of the staff can't communicate in English well. We're in the UK, so even for a Chinese restaurant, it's worth adapting a little more for the local crowd. That said, there is one staff member who works Sundays who speaks very good English. Might be from the US. Her service is fast, she's far more friendly and always smiling compared to the other workers, and she handles everything with such ease that I sometimes wonder if she even realises how much she's carrying. For a part-time role, the workload she's given is clearly way too much, she's being overworked. A few kind customers and someone from the kitchen occasionally help out, which is nice to see, but it really shouldn't come to that. No human being should handle drinks, cashier, menus, food, tables, and karaoke, while still answering phone calls, taking reservations, and managing deliveries, all alone. It's painful to watch. They also have a guy working part-time who can speak English, talked to him, he doesn't work as fast as her, but he's pretty cool. I heard they changed ownership. I liked the old management better, they had a decent number of workers and the overall vibe was better. The food and ambience were better in the old days too. A lot of my friends now only want to come on Sundays or when the beautiful part-timer is working, because honestly the service is only consistently good on those days. The WiFi signal in the karaoke rooms is terrible. Needs fixing. Overall: come on Sundays, order the drinks, and tip your server well.”

“This place used to be good but has gone downhill. Some months ago (think with ownership change) they started saying their card machine was broken and had to pay with bank transfer. It is now months later and they are still saying to pay by bank transfer, refusing to take card, and using different bank accounts. What restaurant does this in 2026? Super odd, feels super dodgy. wont be going back. Rip Tipsy.”

“Had a range of issues with service, food coming out at odd times, with half finished before the rest got their food; only being told 30 mins after ordering that they didn't have two people's food so even longer wait to get anything to eat, etc. Raises the issues, refuses to offer anything but 10% discount, had a whole mess with them saying we could have free drinks then staff backtracking saying they'll give us 1 bottle of juice. Then even though they had a card machine apparently not working so said it's cash or bank transfer only. This is really scammy as you have no protection with bank transfer and no signs to indicate any of this. Then they charged us for a takeaway box! Appalling service, do not recommend at all.”

“Staff are and have always been wonderful, food and drinks are nice too however it’s going downhill. The outside patio/gate is broken and practically an astray, broken and fallen outdoor lights, and broken benches. Large groups who loiter inside/outside. Groups going into the toilet together downstairs for obvious reasons. It’s unfortunate as it was one of the nicer places in Coventry especially because the staff are so kind but definitely won’t be going back.”
