About SultanKebabCoventry

Meal deals at SultanKebabCoventry come with Turkish rice, including a spicy version, rather than defaulting to chips, and they arrive with salad, pitta bread and a can of soft drink. The kitchen on Hales St works mainly as a Turkish kebab shop for Coventry, with most orders going out for collection or delivery to eat off site. Chicken and lamb doner anchor the menu, served in wraps or with chips, while shish comes as a platter with a choice of one or two scoops of meat. Portions are set out in medium and large, and rice boxes sit alongside the deals. A house special sauce and a chilli sauce are offered, and the chilli can be left off on request, with salad, greens and onions coming alongside. Kids' meals give families with young children a smaller option, and desserts and pizzas round out the list. It opens daily, and booking ahead is recommended.

“This is my go-to place for when I don’t feel like cooking or just want a YUMMY meal. The folks who run it are so nice, the food is fantastic and so homely - lovely chat if you want, it feels amazing to be a regular. I landed up here my first day in Coventry and I’m so glad I did because it felt like a tiny piece of homeliness with me ☺️ thank you for all the food over many many evenings!!”

“Rubbish - DO NOT GO THERE The owner is disrespectful and humiliates customers. It seems like he was just pulled out of a general waste bin. He was making fun and behaving in a very street-like manner when I told him, “I have stomach problems, please don’t add chilli.” He was also very rude when my partner asked him for forks. I am sure even his staff were ashamed of his attitude. Will never go there again, it was my first time ever and surely will be the last.”
  • MariStella
“Rude people, rice tastes horrible as the guy clearly gave me some dry rice from this afternoon, lamb is dry and chicken seems like if it was there cooking from a week. Terrible smell from the bag already. Never again. I'm sorry I even walked in.”

Customer Review Summary

Chicken and lamb doner anchors most visits, with reviewers singling out generous portions and meal deals that pair the meat with Turkish or spicy rice, chips, salad, pitta and a soft drink. Close behind is the lamb shish, described by one diner as charred outside and still soft and juicy inside, served as more of a platter with greens and onions; another praises a chicken rice box with fresh, crispy salad. Several call the service quick and the staff friendly. The complaints are substantial, though. Two reviewers describe rudeness at the counter, one recounting being mocked after asking for no chilli because of stomach problems and getting a curt response to a request for forks. One reviewer reports dry rice apparently held over from earlier, dry lamb and an off smell from the bag. Another found a delivery arrived cold with soggy chips, salvaged only by pitta that still seemed fresh, and one notes card payments not working and an app order rejected. One diner recalls being told to pay for the drinks next time instead.
