Customer Review Summary

Pizza is the main draw, described as excellent and freshly made, with an extensive menu, generous sizes that leave leftovers to take home, a gluten-free option and a vegan pizza served with fries. Close behind is the atmosphere, with a live band or live singing, good music and relaxing lighting. Reviewers also mention the Blue Burger with local blue cheese and sweet relish, and avocado with poached eggs on sourdough at brunch. Birthday celebrations come up repeatedly, and one reviewer recommends the place for them. The one negative review describes a rude birthday lunch where a request to remove a meal and a wrong drink order from the bill drew a passive aggressive response from the owner. Most other reviewers describe friendly, good service, including a barman who was helpful with a party in the upstairs room and staff who remembered who ordered which drink.

“Very unpleasant birthday lunch for my sister. From start to finish the staff were rude. One of our party had not one but two hairs in her meal. When we asked for it to be taken off the bill, we were told the owner Chris would come over. Wow, in all my 52 years I have never ever experienced such an EGO. Passive aggressive with his approach to our complaints. We simply asked for one meal and a wrong drink order to be removed from the bill. He ruined what was supposed to be a nice family occasion. Really disappointing afternoon well over £250 spent at SOHO. Quite frankly I would advise not to visit this establishment. A very cocky, little man with no customer service skills. AVOID”

“Went here for a (grown up) birthday party with children in the upstairs area. All of the staff were really helpful and nice, and had excellent memories for who ordered what drink! We had the vegan pizza with some fries and it was really delicious. Would definitely visit again when I'm next in Christchurch”

“We had a 70 / 80th birthday party celebration at the PDR above the main restaurant area , perfect space made extra special by Josh the barman - he couldn’t have been more helpful & super friendly. A credit to you all . Would highly recommend. Keep up the good work guys”

“Stopped in for something to do on a Monday night and found it very welcoming. Food looked a bit expensive, but when it arrived the portion was generous and extremely well cooked with nicely balanced flavours, fresh ingredients and served with care and personality. Good sound track and nice ambiance.... I even stopped 1/2 way through to take the photo of the Blue Burger (nice local blue cheese and sweet relish on burger).”
