About The Way Outback Brewing Company
The Way Outback Brewing Company is an Australia-themed craft beer pub on Seabourne Rd in Bournemouth, pouring beers brewed by the owner at a brewery just across the road. The taps carry craft ales, lagers and ciders, and the bar also stocks wine, spirits and cans. Pizzas come from a pizza shack on the opposite side of the road, so food sits alongside the beer without a kitchen on site. Inside, the bespoke seating is built from repurposed iron beams and wooden planks, and a nook holds a fireplace. Australian decor runs through the pub, tying it to the outback name. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the house-brewed beers, with the porter singled out by one and the ales, lagers and ciders on tap described as brewed just across the road. Close behind is the pizza, called superb by one reviewer and sold from a pizza shack on the opposite side of the street. Several mention the friendly, knowledgeable bar staff, and one says they offered tasters of drinks before anyone bought. The dog friendly welcome comes up repeatedly, with one reviewer counting four dogs on a visit, and the beer garden, decked seating, and a real fire in a cosy nook also draw praise. Wine and coffee get brief mentions. The main caveat is that the place can get very busy and crowded, and one reviewer found the quirkily named beers too far from mainstream for their taste, though they noted the crowd suggested plenty of people like them. One couple had the brewery supply a beer van and evening bar for their wedding, with guests pouring their own pints.

“Very dog friendly! Great selection of beers and very friendly service. Really enjoyed the atmosphere in the beer garden.”

“Highly recommend bar with the best craft ales, lagers and ciders on tap (many brewed just across the road by the owner) and a great choice of wines, spirits and cans plus snacks and freshly made pizzas available most days. The polite, friendly and helpful bar person knew their stuff and let us have a taster of some drinks before we purchased what we liked. Good choice of music, nice chatty punters happy to share a table, clean and tidy toilet's and even a real fire in the room outback. What else could you ask for? We found this place totally by accident whilst out one day checking out Boscombe, then quickly pased Pokestown train station, down the road towards Southbourne and couldn't believe what a gem we found!”

“Great little pub who brew their own beers across the road from the pub. Good choice of wine, too. The decor is fantastic and themed on Australia (obviously!). Really knowledgeable and friendly staff with quick service. Great bespoke seating made from repurposed iron beams and wooden planks. Plus a cosy nook area with fireplace. There is also a gorgeously lit outside decked seating area. Highly recommend visiting and we're looking forward to returning soon.”

“Excellent brew pub with their own well crafted beers and pizzas, always on the list of places to visit in Southbourne. Can get very busy but it’s worth it!!”
- Old School Caretaker
“Quirky place with weirdly named beers. I tried a few, but they were too far off mainstream for me. The place was crowded so there are plenty of people who like them. The staff were friendly and engaging. Also, they are very dog friendly. There were four when i went”
