  “The food was amazing. Table of 8 people. Rate for service marked as 2 stars as we had a member in the party who had egg allergy. The manager took order but other servers gave the food out and gave the wrong dish to our allergy member. I would suggest if manager took allergy order, they should bring the dish to that customer - or leave an identifer at the table to show the other servers where the dish should go.”

  “If Cheltenham had a botanical garden and a cocktail laboratory that decided to raise a child together, it would be The Botanist. From the moment we walked in, the staff were genuinely welcoming, attentive, and somehow managed to be everywhere exactly when needed without ever hovering. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, packed with flavor, and disappeared from our table at a rate that would concern any responsible nutritionist. The drink menu deserves special recognition. If your usual order is "I'll just have a beer," prepare to be distracted by an array of creative concoctions that sound like they were invented by a team of highly educated gardeners with access to premium spirits. Location-wise, it's hard to beat. Right in the heart of Cheltenham, with a parking garage conveniently across the street, meaning the most difficult part of the evening is deciding what to order, not finding somewhere to leave your car. Overall, The Botanist delivers great food, fantastic service, unique drinks, and a fun atmosphere that makes you want to stay for "just one more" before realizing you've been there three hours. Highly recommended. Just don't tell too many people about it, we still want a table next time.”

  “What a fantastic place to visit, decor is amazing unique, the real plants make the difference . Food was implacable so delicious, much variety to be had and brought out freshly cooked hot. The staff there are utterly amazing never have I been waited on with such warmth, attentiveness and respect they truly deserve praise. Cocktails to cry for all amazing amazing. So worth a visit”

  “The service was great and the atmosphere was alright, but the food was waaaaay to salty. I ordered the beef burger and my friend ordered the chicken burger and both of us agreed that they were not great. The chicken was unpleasant and the beef was so salty you couldn't even taste beef. The chips were also overseasoned. Would not go back for food”

  “Went the day before valentine's and it was lush. Sad I didn't catch our servers name but she was amazing! Ordered the surf and turf sharing kebabs and the plant pot desert alongside cheeky happy hour discounted Bevs. A live duo acoustic band was playing some lovey tunes. 🥰”

It’s not just about the "Instagrammable" presentation; the meat was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. What really elevates the dish, though, are the tasty sauces. Having that flavored butter or sauce drip down over the fries at the bottom is a stroke of genius. It’s consistent, flavorful, and filling. ​The Drinks: Expert Cocktails ​The cocktail menu is extensive and feels a bit more "crafted" than your standard bar. Whether you’re into something botanical and floral or a classic with a twist, the balance of flavors was spot on. They aren't shy with the garnishes either, which adds to the whole aesthetic of the place. ​Atmosphere & Service ​The decor is stunning—very lush and green—which makes for a great "reset" after a long day in the office. Even with a larger group for a team meal, the service remained attentive without being overbearing. It’s lively enough to have a good atmosphere, but we could still actually hear each other talk. ​Verdict: If you're looking for a reliable spot in Cheltenham that feels a bit special without being overly stuffy, this is it. Great for groups, even better for the food”

  “Came here just for dessert on a quiet Sunday evening. The place was almost empty so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It’s a nice setting. My goodness, the cookie dough with butterscotch sauce was amazing. I’m still thinking about it two months later back in the States. Had a nice time!”

  “The two of us had an early dinner on a Friday night. Was very quiet in the restaurant area, the bar area was more busy. Our waitress Jess was good, highly attentive & looked after us well. We were provided with a jug of water & small plate of popcorn without asking, which on a hot day is a nice touch. From 4pm to 7pm weekdays there's an offer for any 2 x classic cocktails for £16.95, which is ok. Food came really quickly, we just ordered mains, for the price felt the portion sizes were small than I would of anticipated. Overall a nice place to eat would visit again”

  “A place with a great atmosphere and service. Lots of vegetarian options to choose from. The food was yummy although when it was served fries didn't look amazing so I was nicely surprised with taste. The fries looked very dry however they were crunchy on the outside and really soft inside with yummy spices. Desserts were amazing. What could be better- the halloumi hanging kebab portion was quite small, our chilli oil had no chilli and the music was so loud that we had to shout to each other. Otherwise perfect.”

  “We went here for a 21st birthday on a Saturday afternoon. The place looks amazing inside and is huge. We were there for the food, really, so all the fancy cocktails they do were wasted on me. The staff were very friendly and helpful. To be honest, I think the food menu is a bit limited, and some things are more expensive than expected. I had fish and chips for £15.50 which is quite a dear considering what it is. However, apart from that, I can't fault the place. I imagine it's a trendy place for the younger crowd, hence why we had a 21st birthday meal there. Kids get a free pudding when selecting from the children's menu. Mind you. the brownie did look very small. Nevertheless, it's a great place for group meals and to celebrate special occasions. The younger generation seem to like it. Definitely worth a visit.”
