About Bosco Pizzeria Cheltenham

Bosco Pizzeria Cheltenham is a Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzeria on The Quadrangle, Imperial Square in Cheltenham, drawing on the pizzerias of Naples, New York and San Francisco. The kitchen is open, and seating is a mix of tables and counter spots. Pizza leads the menu, including one topped with anchovies and broccoli and another called the Bosco pizza. Pasta includes spaghetti alla carbonara made with egg and no cream. Small plates, salads, and deli meats and cheeses sit alongside. Cocktails and mocktails come from the bar, where guests can wait for a table at peak times. Tables can be booked in advance or taken as walk-ins. Pizza and pasta appear on both the lunch and dinner menus, and the restaurant is open daily.

Customer Review Summary

Pizza is the main draw, with diners praising the wood-fired pies as not over-cheesed, from the Bosco pizza to one topped with anchovies and broccoli. Close behind is the pasta, where the spaghetti alla carbonara is described as made with proper egg and no cream, and the pasta as not overcooked. Reviewers also name the focaccia, fico salad, bronzino, charcuterie board, longostino and tiramisu, plus cocktails and mocktails. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly, fast and attentive, including with a three-year-old at the table, and the atmosphere is called lively and welcoming. The caveats are small but specific. One reviewer thought the staff seemed under resourced, though they kept smiling, and a few mention waiting at the bar or at peak times. The one complaint about the food was a garlic butter dip that arrived as a solid slab of garlic butter. At one celebration for a sister's exam results, the host sent over non-alcoholic fizz and Prosecco as a surprise.

“A gorgeous evening from start to finish. I booked a table to celebrate my younger sisters exam results and couldn’t have felt more looked after! From the wonderful Host at the door who arranged for N/A fizz for my sisters and yummy Prosecco for me to turn up through the meal as a surprise!! To our WONDERFUL waiter Jordan who gave wonderful recommendations and a fabulous wine pairing! A special evening alongside delicious food! The longostino were my favourite! And of course anywhere with Montenegro is a plus! Thank you Bosco x”

“The food is very tasty I have visited twice so far and on both occasions it was great. Staff is very helpfully and friendly and they are quick to assist when you need that. Not bad location either and plenty seats can book in advance or just chance it by walking in but in peack times might have to wait.”

“Came here on a beautiful sunny, warm evening not expecting to be able to get an outside table, but was shown to the bar for a drink whilst we waited and enjoyed a delicious cocktail, then had a beautiful meal outside. The highlight was our waiter (I want to say Ben, but might be wrong) very funny, attentive, and great at his job, a true asset to the restaurant! He really made our meal even more enjoyable.”
