  “One would think that such a beautifu summers day couldn't be topped by a trip to 'just another Pub'. Well thiink again...... as the Pointing Dog is not 'just another pub'. They say 'the people make the place', which is true of course, and so it must be said in this instance, great staff make this great pub! Luckily for me, lightning struck twice, being the 2nd time on the trot I was lucky enough to be welcomed into this outstanding establishment by the smile and grace of the lovely Elizabeth. As I was accompanied by my elderly mother who took an age to decide what she wanted off menu I can say the service was especially patient and perfectly spot on, complimented by what seems to be the standard, joyful and impressive dance moves! Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. So would you believe, I will be returning this evening, with or without my elderly mother at my side....hoping to be greated by a certain smile.😎👌💯”

  “Visited here on the 19/7/26 for a meal with the family to celebrate a birthday. The service was excellent. We got seated away from where families with children which was great as it was an adult only party. The food was superb. The Sunday dinner for two was amazing and unlimited gravy/york puds which we made use of. Looking forward to visiting again.”

  “Thank you to Jennie & Cole for looking after us today. Food was really nice from the set menu, which is not always the case in most places, but steak was beautiful & cooked perfectly. First time here but will definitely be returning.”

  “We popped in by chance for Sunday lunch, were seated immediately. Service was brilliant, really prompt and efficient despite them being really busy. The lamb shank and vegan roast dinners were both great, esp. the gravy Glad we took a chance on this place.”

  “Went in for a last minute lunch. We were shown a table quickly by Ian. Beautiful decor and setting. Service was quick and friendly from Jenny and George. We ordered the salmon, chicken burger and chicken wings from the main menu which were all deliciously cooked and presented well.”

  “We recently held an afternoon social for 23 retired staff at The Pointing Dog, and it couldn’t have gone better. The food, drinks, service, and organisation were all excellent, with every request carried out seamlessly. The pub itself is spotlessly clean, with ample parking, and while the weather kept us indoors, the gardens are a beautiful space that would be perfect on a sunnier day”

  “Drive home from Blackpool and we decided here for a some food and a drink well from walking in absolutely lovely service with having a disabled boy in a big push chair they put us on a table with plenty of room and they had proper disabled toilets but the changing table is still the grey pull down. But the food was absolutely lovely well nice from the brewery tower burger to the cheese & onion pie home made and I'll be stopping here again i would recommend this to others”
