About The Woodville
The Woodville is a pub at 1-5 Woodville Rd in a student area of Cardiff, near the Sherman theatre. Retro-gaming and quiz nights run here, and the TVs show the big games while the kitchen serves street food influenced menus. The Dirty doughball dipper is a named dish, and a full English breakfast with hash browns is served at midday. A bottomless brunch recurs, with food and cocktails brought to the table without guests needing to ask, and a student discount applies to it. The drinks list includes a selection of ciders that changes regularly. The crowd spans mixed ages, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Bottomless brunch is the clear draw, with reviewers repeatedly describing lovely food, delicious cocktails and drinks that arrive before glasses are empty, so there is no waiting around. Service gets consistent praise, with several describing the staff as friendly, attentive and accommodating. Close behind is the full English at breakfast, called good value with a great portion size, and the hash browns are singled out as yummy. One diner says the dirty doughball dipper beat expectations, and another notes a good mixed-age crowd on a Saturday night. Drinkers mention a rotating selection of ciders and great beers, and a student discount through MIXR is seen as a bonus. The main complaint comes from one booker who reserved a table for dinner, only to arrive and find the kitchen closed because of the heat. That reviewer was frustrated not by the closure itself but by the lack of any advance warning. Several others praise the food and drinks arriving quickly, and one says the brunch rounds kept coming without a single request.

“Great pub haven't been in here for a long time probably 20 years or so, met my son who is a student here for a pint. Great to see a selection of different ciders which change regularly. Didn't have food but looked very nice and according to my son it is very good. Nice to see it's still a good pub hopefully visit more often 👍🏼”

“Wasn't sure what to expect coming in as not from the area but it was close to the Sherman theatre. Was a good mixed aged crowd on a Saturday night. The dirty doughball dipper exceeding expectations and was the best doughballs I've had for a while. Prices reasonable. Staff were friendly. Would recommend.”

“Great food and great beers! The woodville is a great place to drink with a large indoor and outdoor seating area and the food is also great here! Food was quick to come and reasonably priced and there is a great selection of drinks available. They also have MIXR which is a bonus for student discount!”
