Quick info
About Taste of Sicily
Taste of Sicily is a family-run Sicilian restaurant in Cambridge, at 10 Homerton St, and it moved here from Cherry Hinton Road. The chef comes out to check on tables, so diners can speak with the kitchen directly about their meal. The menu starts with small plates such as caponata, and the seafood section includes mixed grilled seafood. Tiramisu is on the dessert list for the end of the meal. The restaurant is run by one family, which keeps the cooking and the dining room under the same roof. Dogs are welcome, so diners can bring their pets along.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return for the tiramisu most of all, calling it light, creamy and not overly sweet, with one noting the biggest portion they have had. Close behind are the mixed grilled seafood and fish with potatoes in a garlic and olive oil dressing, praised as fresh, plus the Parmigiana starter, bruschetta, carbonara, mushroom tagliatelle and a five salami pizza. The Nutella cheesecake also earns strong praise. Many describe a family-run, homely place where the chef comes out to check on tables, one diner received extra portions, and another had a pasta dish made to suit a fussy partner. Service is called friendly and attentive. One reviewer found the first table in quiet and wished for some music. The one serious complaint is a night when a single waitress handled the room, promised bruschetta arrived burnt after about an hour, and a couple with a film to catch left after around 80 minutes with no mains.

“Very friendly service. The chef came out to check on us. Food was very good. The grill was very tasty. Family style, feels like eating mom’s cooking if I was Italian. Definitely recommend.”

It’s not just a restaurant, it’s a place where you feel at home. Fantastic fish with potatoes topped with a garlic and olive oil dressing. Georgina was very friendly and profesional wich give 100% outstanding hospitality. A real gem that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Sicilian cuisine! “This is a first rate restaurant. The food is delicious, the wine and coffee are great and the service is flawless. The restaurant was previously located on Cherry Hinton Road and moved to its current location about 6 months ago. Well worth a visit.”

“Very friendly family owned business. Cambridge needs more of these and less chains to be honest. Seafood is very fresh a d indeed taste like we are in Europe”

“The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. Georgiana was incredibly attentive and made sure every detail was taken care of throughout our meal. We had the Parmigiana as an entrance and we all agreed it was the best starter we had ever tried. The gnocchi, the risotto and the pizzas were also delicious. And the tiramisu, Incredible! We enjoyed everything so much that, before leaving, we asked to meet the chef so we could personally congratulate him. He truly deserved the applause! We’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the delicious dishes. Highly recommended!”
