About Napoleat
In Cambridge, Napoleat is a restaurant and pizzeria at 196 Cherry Hinton Rd, and its two pizza vans can be hired for private events, which brings the pizza oven to a venue of your choosing. The kitchen cooks Italian and Neapolitan dishes, and pizza is made live in the restaurant beside a large pizza oven, with the Napoli pizza among the options. Pasta follows the same approach, with scialatielli melenzane e pesce spade on the menu alongside a pasta special of the day. The menu is divided into clear meat, seafood and veggie sections, so groups with different preferences can find their own dishes. Tiramisu is served for dessert, and a wine selection is available to go with the food. Guests enter through a hotel entrance.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza is the draw most reviewers return to, described as fresh, full of flavour and the best some have had in Cambridge, from the Napoli pizza to one topped with pistachio and thin slices of meat. Tiramisu comes close behind, called delectable, generous in portion and spot on. Pasta also earns praise, including gnocchi with well-judged texture and a swordfish and aubergine scialatielli, while calamari and olives started one diner's meal. Several mention friendly, quick service, including a waitress who made guests feel welcome and a large group visit where the live pizza-making stood out. Reviewers also like the Italian decor, the selection of wines and the value. One dissenting reviewer found the food mediocre, with simple seasoning and ingredients that did not taste high quality, and called the carbonara not authentic. Another says an earlier visit disappointed before a return won them over. A big pizza oven is credited for service staying quick when the room was full at eight.

“The best pizza ever, a side salad gently seasoned and dressed with great chips. The place was full at 8, service was mega quick as they have massive pizza oven get to 500 degrees. Authentic pizzas. Great staff. Highly recommend this place.”

“An italian colleague recommended this restaurant to me a few years ago as the most authentic in Cambridge and, two years ago, I was a little disappointed. However, I visited again and I was blown away. The pizza was certainly the best i’ve had in Cambridge and the Tiramisu was delectable and a generous portion size. The value was exceptional, spending less than £20 for a main and dessert. However what I love most is the restaurant’s decor. It is so reminiscent of the hotels I stayed in whilst in Sorrento, it’s incredible.”

“Great experience at Napoleat! The pizza was fantastic - delicious and full of flavour. The service was equally wonderful, with a lovely Italian waitress who was attentive, friendly and made us feel very welcome! Ah, tiramisu was also spot on!”
