Quick info
About Noshe Restaurant and Coffee House
Noshe Restaurant and Coffee House is an Afghan restaurant in Cambridge, on Mill Rd, that pairs a grill menu with a coffee house. The kitchen cooks lamb and chicken kebabs over charcoal and also serves a mixed grill for those who want both. Kabuli pulao comes with slow-cooked lamb, rice and fresh salad, and the menu also lists dumplings, kunafa and lentil soup. Mornings bring the Noshe breakfast, which has a halal option. Coffee arrives in ceramic cups with latte art, and karak chai is on offer for tea drinkers. The dining room is small and set up for family-style meals, so groups share dishes at the table.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return to the Kabuli pilau, described as slow cooked tender lamb over fragrant rice with fresh salad, in portions that suit two sharing. Close behind are the charcoal grilled lamb and chicken kebabs, called juicy and tender, along with the Noshe breakfast, the dumplings, and the kunafa. One reviewer points to the karak chai, likened to masala tea, and another says a toddler liked the lentil soup. Several describe the staff as friendly and welcoming, and one says the decor feels like being a guest in someone's home. The main criticism comes from one diner who found the mixed grill meat dry and lacking in flavour, with the rice the same, though presentation was excellent. Another says the seating arrangement could be better, and one calls it a small restaurant and suggests booking for a few people. The coffee is called smooth, and reviewers mention hearts and latte art on the cups.

“Iqra was absolutely amazing! She was so kind, attentive, and incredibly accommodating throughout our visit. Made little hearts on our coffees and took extra time to prepare our desert. She made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Thank you, Iqra! ❤️”

“A beautiful and well deserved thanks to Arusha for her impeccable service! Not only did she deal me ordering a massive (delicious) Noah’s breakfast (Halal too) at 8:30am in the morning; she kept the conversation flowing and bar whilst multitasking the open AND other customers. She’s such a bright person to be welcoming customers into the Cafe and must be an outstanding addition to the team. Thank you for not making me feel silly for ordering a jug breakfast and being so warm and accommodating in your welcome xx (ps: beautiful latte art, but the coffee was so smooth so disappeared before I took a picture!)”

“Excellent and tasty Afgani cuisine. I will particularly recommended the Kabuli pulao, slow cooked tender lamb with fragrant rice and fresh salad is a perfect combo. Spice level is just right. They also offer a vatiety of authentic afganj dishes. Staffs are friendly. It's a family style dining. Seating arrangement could be better. But I will come back for the good food.”
