What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention sunday roast, pork hot pot, onglet steak starter and pancakes.
Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most praise, with one reviewer who had heard it called the best roast in Bristol saying it did not disappoint, and others singling out the soup and sides that come with it. Close behind are the brunch dishes, including the pancakes, the potato cake with eggs and the bacon, and the pork hot pot, onglet steak starter and lamb at dinner. Reviewers describe the staff as friendly and knowledgeable, and the cocktails as delightful. The recurring complaint is slow service. Several say food took close to an hour to arrive, coffee came late, and one couple spent two hours from sitting down to getting the bill, with dessert also slow. A few add that it gets noisy when busy, that the hollandaise was a little tasteless, and that the welcome station leaves arriving guests standing in the corridor. One reviewer who waited for food still said the quality meant they did not mind, and another suggests booking a table to avoid problems.

“Fantastic food compared to bar standard. Definitely worth a Michelin restaurant. There was care incorporated in making and plating of the food. The best ever greek salad in my life!”

“Amazing food and friendly staff. Be aware of long waiting after ordering and it’s a bit noisy when busy, if you’re sensitive to that. We were two and it took 45 min for the food to be served, but the quality was so good that we didn’t mind. And absolutely the best tasting bacon!”

“Great food and atmosphere. Been coming here for brunch/ Sunday roast for years and only recently discovered the mid week dining menu which was absolutely excellent. Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The only thing that could be improved would be the location of the till/ welcome station as currently you have to stand in the corridor and in the way while they see you/ attend to you/ sit you. Other than that, highly recommend!”

“An absolutely stunning meal guided by really pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly staff! The meal was expensive, but the portions were huge! Totally worth the price in my opinion. The pork hot pot was enormous and and so rich with flavour. The onglet steak starter was the stand out dish for me. I wish this was a main so I could have eaten more of it. My partner had the lamb which was unbelievable well cooked, it melted in the mouth and the presentation was nothing short of Michelin Star! The cocktails were delightful and perfectly balanced which set the tone for a perfect evening in Bedminster.”
